Rule of Thumb for Clip Rings / Curtains?

I am in the process of buying curtains and rods for the dining room, and will be using clip rings. How far apart should the rings be spaced? I imagine that it would be the same spacing more or less that's used for pinch pleats, but have no idea what that would be ...

It's going to depend on the fullness of your curtain panel; I usually eyeball it by putting a hook on each end, one in the middle, then one in between each end and the middle, etc until eventually I've got hooks evenly distributed and the look I want. (I know, clear as mud, right? ) Hope it helped a little!!

A shower curtain uses 12 rings for 72 inches. I'd start with that in mind and adjust from there. More rings for more fullness, and fewer for a straighter look.

Here's a link to a do-it-yourself site. They recommend spacing the rings about every 6". Which, actually, appears to be the same as the shower curtain.
