I stayed across from Ground Zero for one night while I was In NY last month... It is a pit in the ground still, a 24 hour construction site. I looked over from my room on the 17th floor and I have to say I was shaken. The church, which was next to mt hotel was almost too much. I stopped in, hoping for a quiet corner where I could bow my head, maybe light a candle. It is a shrine now, a museum almost. I started crying just looking at all the displays and had to leave.
Understand, when you eat meat, that something did die. You have an obligation to value it - not just the sirloin but also all those wonderful tough little bits.
