Need Help Quick! What goes with Bratwurst?

We rec'd a last minute invite to our friends tonight. They are going to grill bratwurst and told us to bring something that would go with that. Another friend is coming too and she is bringing German potato sald.

Any ideas on what we should bring? I am okay with bringing a dessert too but I would need to pick it up on the way or it would need to be really simple.

Sauerkraut seems logical. A green salad would also be good in addition to the GPS.

I agree that a green salad would be nice, but I think a lightly dressed pasta salad or baked beans would work as well.

Well, it's probably too late now for this time, but braised red cabbage is the perfect accompaniment to brats.

Thanks everyone! We ended up having spicy Italian sausages instead....Costco was out of Brats! We did have the best German Potato Salad and it was an ATK recipe.

We really took the easy way out and brought/bought ice cream and cones. Unfortunately, I just didn't have enough time to run to the store and make something.

I was thinking sauerkraut too. If I were going, I would make this Polish Sausage Stew that I LOVE and take the Polish Sausage out to save for me for another meal. This is very tasty

    Polish Sausage Stew
1 can condensed cream of celery soup
    1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 27 oz. can sauerkraut, drained
1 1/2 lbs. Polish sausage cut into 2" pieces
4 med. potatoes, pared and cubed
    1 cup chopped onion
1 cup (4 oz) shredded Monteray Jack
In a crock pot, combine the soup, sugar, and sauerkraut. Mix well.

Add and stir in sausage, potato, and onion. Cover and cook on LOW for 8
    hours.

Skim off excess fat; stir in cheese. Spoon into serving bowls and top with
    additional shredded cheese.
    Makes 6 servings.
