    The Obama Potentate Flag?

I heard about this on the Rachel Maddow Show and Countdown w/Keith Olberman last night and thought it was hilarious. I did a search on it and found this blog posting...

    The Obama Potentate flag?

Frequent readers know source links are always supplied here, but in this case I will spare the quoted site author embarrassment.

In keeping with the theme of DemWit, described to your left, I submit the following post, pulled from a Web site, as proof, once more, that ignorance is the greatest enemy of America.

    -BEGIN-
Now Obama Has His Own Flag–I Bet the Colors Run

This has really just gone way too far. At an Ohio campaign stop last week Obama gave a speech with a background of American flags which is quite common. However, if you look closely some of the flags are not American flags. The blue field has been changed to show an Obama seal. Yes, there are also stars but have no pattern and they do not add up to 50. Look at that disgusting thing flying with Old Glory.

I can’t believe that the mainstream media won’t report on this. Fortunately, we conservatives have radio. Stalwart reporter Bob Grant immediately called Obama out on the flag saying, “What is that flag that Obama has been standing in front of that looks like an American flag, but instead of having the field of 50 stars representing the 50 states there’s a circle. Would somebody please tell me what that is? Is that the O for Obama, is that what it is?…Did you notice that Obama is not content with having just several American flags, plain old American flags with 50 states represented by 50 stars…He had the flag painted over and the O for Obama. Now these things are symptomatic of a man who would like to be a potentate, a dictator.”

This is why Bob Grant is a great journalist and great reporter. He’s willing to call it like he sees it and not fall in line behind the Obama party line.

What’s really disgusting to me is while watching the least political of American political institutions–a college football game–I saw a state funded university during their halftime show form the Obama flag. This is beyond disgusting. This is an abuse of our tax dollars. If this was a private institution I could understand it, but this was the Ohio State Marching Band–Woody Hayes’ old school. This must not be tolerated. The phone number for the Ohio State University athletic department is (614) 292-7280. Call them and no (sic) that you do not want federally funded Universities engaging in such blatant politicing.
    -END-

The above post, errors intact, had only one comment, and here it is:

“That’s the state flag of Ohio, you f***ing moron!”

    Succinct.

    God bless the USA!

Ok - I really DID laugh out loud at this one!!! That is a riot!

    Talking

OK, it gets better...I found the original blog and someone wrote this comment:

You think THAT’s bad. Huh - what til you see the flag Obama had made for campaigning in South Carolina!

It has a CRESCENT and a PALM TREE … http://www.50states.com/flag/scflag.htm … clearly a REFERENCE to Osama bin Ladin ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

And after that, the blogger added this update!!

UPDATE - A reader has just pointed out to me that Obama has also made a flag for campaigning in South Carolina that contains a flag and a crescent moon. I don’t think you can get much clearer evidence of his true motives. As for those of you who are saying it is the Ohio state flag–that doesn’t make it right. I don’t care if Obama makes flags for all 50 states–Old Glory is the only flag I need. When will this man stop? Will he be happy before all 50 states have their own flag? What happened to unity?

    That's hilarious!

That's what drives me CRAZY about politics - people are SO ready to jump all over the other guy and so ready to accept the worst about them.

It's kind of satisfying when they do this and go and make a$$es of themselves.

What really flabbergasts me though is that people on TV would not even THINK to check to see if that was the OH flag when he was speaking IN OHIO before going on and on about it!

    HILARIOUS!

So, let's all post our state flags and analyze them for Obama's "true motives"!

    I'll start.

    Description:

Starting at the top of a shield on a dark blue field is the state motto "Forward". Below it is a badger the state animal. A sailor and miner show that the people work on water and land. The shield in the center shows Wisconsin's support for the United States. In four sections surrounding the shield are representations of the states main industries: Agriculture, mining, manufacturing and navigation. The cornucopia and pile of lead represent farm products and minerals. The flag law was amended in 1979 to include the name of the state and the date of statehood.

Clearly, we can see that Obama is pro-male, as there are no women on this flag. He is also pro-Thanksgiving, as shown by the horn of plenty/cornucopia. Additoinally, he is a big fan of tools, which could be used as terrorist weapons, and recognizes the Badger for the mighty animal it is, as it is placed above the men. He also enjoys moving forward. Oh, and also since the flag contains no stars whatsoever, he is clearly against the United States.

Anybody else want to take a stab?

Well I am from Ohio, so apparently it has been done for me.

Since I recognized the flag immediately, I had to read it twice to even get it. I am so appalled.

And since when are crazy far right people against states' rights?

PS Erin: that was HYSTERICAL. Too bad there is no buckeye on our flag, goodness only knows what they would have made of that.

Okay, clearly Obama is confused. He took Sarah Palin's flag. See? There she is in the middle, with her gun. The eagle, elk & moose are all clearly trying to jump out of the way.

While Obama's melting pot background doesn't, to my knowledge, include Native American cultures, he clearly has their support. Joes Plumber and Six Pack may take offense at all that high-falutin Latin speak. And that sword up top looks suspiciously like a scimitar.

In addition, I think it's important to point out that Obama has the support of free thinking arms that can move on their own, without need of a corporeal head/body. Kinda like in Evil Dead 2.

Well, it's clear what Obama thinks of red states. Look at the color he put on the bottom of the Texas flag, while the blue (state) stands tall, containing the Shining Star of the Democratic Party.

You can hear Bob Grant telling his radio audience that Obama has created his own O flag here, and he's serious about it, I believe. The blog quoted above, though, thatsrightnate.com, is a satire. At least, I'm 99% sure. In a subsequent post he says: "Since I made this post I have been attacked by many well-known bastions of anti-American socialism like Daily KOS, The Opinion Mill, and Cookinglight.com. My only regret is that my mistake gave these ideologues fodder for their rage against a country I love so well." He ends with: "Furthermore, a politician has a responsibility to not only avoid impropriety, but also the appearance of impropriety. The fact that we all so easily believed this about Obama leaves the blame squarely on his doorstep. If he had avoided the appearance of being so vain, none of us would have so easily believed this. I call upon Mister Obama to apologize to people like myself and Bob Grant who had our credibility hurt by this flag fiasco."

Well, lets not leave John McCain out of this. This is his flag, also the Commonwealth of Virginia's State flag....Interesting.

Understanding that the original post could be a piece of satire ... I just needed to comment on the OSUMB's performance posted on that site.

They formed a BOW TIE, not a burgee.

And, for what it's worth, it was the pre-game show, not the half-time show.

And the phone number that's posted? For an advisor in a graduate program in engineering. (You've got to wonder what connection the blogger has with OSU and their materials science department!)

Besides, the poster could have done much better with a flag from OSU:

... what, with the blatant endorsement of a candidate and the apparent support of legalization of marijuana.

Now, is the flag of the "real" Virginia? A top aide to John McCain said Saturday the Republican presidential nominee still has a strong chance of winning the state because of his support in "real Virginia," the downstate areas far removed in distance and political philosophy from the more liberal northern part of the state. Earlier this month, McCain's brother, Joe, told those at an event for the Republican nominee that two Democratic-leaning areas in Northern Virginia, Arlington and Alexandria, were "communist country." He quickly apologized and called the remark a joke. Yeah, I bet he couldn't apologize fast enough! Both quotes from article found here...

Furthermore, it clearly shows the future. Obama will triumph over the tyrant McCain/the Republican Party, by stomping on his chest, symbolic of taking many states, including Virginia. He may possibly wear a toga when he does this.

Here's what's weird though...according to http://www.50states.com/flag/vaflag.htm, the description of the this flag states that the victor is a woman. So, we also have a half naked woman on this flag, which can also be proof of how Obama is pro-choice, by allowing the half naked woman to really be the one to triumph over McCain/Republican party as they, en masse, vote for Obama.

Or, possibly, Obama is cross dressing here. Hard to tell.

    Yea right!

I can only think of 2 reasons to make such accusation
    1. Bob Grant is ignorant
    2. Bob Grant feels his audience is ignorant and would believe such dribble

Either way Bob Grant should apologize to his audience, Obama and the public!
