I don't think the truth has any relation to what comes out of her mouth.

I thought his answers were quite thoughtful and clear. Thanks for the link.

Palin keeps bringing Ayers up, even now that the campaign is over (well, the 2008 campaign, anyway ). I wonder if there is anything that either Obama or Ayers could say to "clear the air." I have a feeling that Palin, and her supporters, will continue to believe that Obama pals around with terrorists, no matter what evidence comes out to the contrary.

I am actually really surprised that his interview made anyone feel better about him. I felt like I needed a shower after watching him... ick. (And this has nothing to do with Palin or Obama - it has to do with him.)

I don't usually watch GMA so I don't know who the questioner was. that was a fairly aggressive session for an AM lightweight talk show. I'm not sure I liked Ayers but then I don't need to. He's not running for public office. he was clearly not going to be bullied and came across as smart and not easily intimidated.

Maybe the same interviewer could be set up to interview Palin?

I suppose someone who has done what he has done is not easily intimidated. But certainly don't think he came across as smart.

The nerve of this guy, Bill Ayers. Guilty , free as a bird, what a great country.

I despise him and can't see how anyone would defend what he did.

And those of us who fought to end that war were actually on the right side.

I wonder if any surviving Vietnamese Boat People are among the thousands of people in Ayers' acquaintance.

It's appalling, that after the North Vietnamese cleansing of South Vietnam, the Khmer Rouge genocide, the scorched-earth Indochinese wars, and decades of single-party rule by the communist government of Vietnam, that Ayers' moral awareness terminates in 1971. What a cretin.

Jmarie, no-one has said they are defending him. I only posted this because is what he said about Obama.

I am wondering if he only agreed to be on to promote his re-release of his book.

These are federal crimes he commited why wasn't he sent to life in prison?

The Federal charges were dropped because of federal misconduct which included illegal wire taps, and break ins at the offices of defense attorneys, domestic surveillance and other actions by Nixon and then Attorney General John Mitchell -- rather than expose the whole rotten mess (which of course included a certain break in at Democratic headquarters at the Watergate) all Federal charges were dropped.

Ayers was completely lucid and believable on the single issue of any importance in 2008 -- that the attempt to smear Obama through guilt by association was ridiculous given the reality of their "relationship".
