Which network is carrying the We are One show?

I have only been able to find it on one of our French language networks but I would prefer to hear the speaches untranslated

I've been listening to it on NPR and thought it might be nice to see it as well, so I tuned in to CNN and MSNBC. All the on-air people were just blathering away, so I went back to the radio where people can't talk over one another and the event so effectively.

HBO! Even if you don't subscribe to HBO, as long as it's on your list of potential channels, it's there. It's running from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. with a repeat at either 7 or 7:30 tonight. I do NOT subscribe to HBO, but it's playing on my TV right now!

(If you have Dish Network, it's on channel 300.)

I was just about to post the same thing. 501 if you have DirectTV. We don't subscribe to HBO and we're getting it right now as well.

I watched it on HBO and without question, this was one of the best television events I've ever seen. WOW, just WOW! Here are some pictures I took of my TV.

I recorded the concert so haven't seen the whole thing yet. Thanks for those pictures, Gumbeaux. I totally agree with you about it being an incredible event. I'm not sure which was my favorite moment yet, but I was so touched when Pete Seegar sang "This Land is My Land" with Bruce...along with the entire 500,000+ people in the audience. Wow. Just WOW!

    Is this playing online anywhere?

Never mind, I found it...I just hope it will be close captioned online.

Joe Biden yelled his speech. Did he not know he had a mike?

When he sat down after his speech, Biden's wife and Obama were smiling and telling him something. I wonder if they were ribbing him about yelling into the microphone.

They were probably saying, "Dude! China called and said to keep it down! They're trying to sleep!"

The youngest Obama girl looked disturbed by Sheryl Crow's reggae and his niece was cracking me up. I don't think she had a nap before the show.

Garth needs to come back to country.

I loved the duet "A Change is Gonna Come" sung by Bettye LaVette and Jon Bon Jovi. They seemed to love singing together.

OK, it was a concert -- clearly I should have tuned in to an entertainment channel rather than a news channel . If this television thingy-mabob catches on, I'm really going to have to get with the program . (And I even heard something on the radio about non-subscribers being able to tune in. I thought they were talking about the inauguration, which made no sense to me. Hopeless.)

A friend's 14 y.o. son traveled the 3000 miles to DC with his class, and called her as the concert was about to begin; sounds like the experience of a lifetime for a kid!

PS: Kristi, you made me LOL! I was on the GG Bridge when Biden came on, and I nearly crossed three lanes of traffic, I jumped out of my skin

Garth couldn't remember the words, but he was obviously having a great time.

I was afraid the little girl behind Obama had frozen to death, she was so still and had her eyes closed for such a long time! Then I realized they had heater fans blowing up there, so she was probably just taking her nap.

My favorite was James Taylor with the two others that I am too old to know.

Bono and his ego got to sing 2 songs!

That was Obama's niece Jazz. When she was awake she had the funniest expressions on her face.

This was my favourite moment as well but I L:OVED thw whole thing.

I sang along with all the anthem like songs. I left the US at age 10 but those songs still stir my soul.

The next few days are going to be so special. Enjoy America!

(of course there are parties and celebrations across Canada as well,
many organized by Americans here but Canucks are getting in on the act too!).

I don't know - and he seems like such a nice guy too!

This really was a great show - I missed the first half, but HBO is running it again now, and tomorrow as well. I'm not sure if it will be available to non-subscribers then but I think you can watch it "live" (as it broadcasts) on www.hbo.com

Surely, all of the mainstream networks will carry it.

And thanks, Gumbeaux, for posting the schedule since I missed it yesterday. I'll see if it comes on this afternoon.

    Yep even Fox.

Local theaters here are airing it on their huge screens for free.

Well, apparently our cable provider didn't get the memo either. It's not being shown on HBO here.

HBO made the concert available not only to all cable companies, but also to anyone who went to their website.

I know of at least one person who watched the whole thing online.

Loved Stevie Wonder and Usher (Shakira, not so much) ... also loved Pete Seeger, 90 years old and leading the entire Mall in song. That was quite cool.

And, I know that part of my dislike for this is my dislike of Josh Groban, but why the segue from the video of Marian Anderson to Josh Groban singing the same song? I don't mind that he sang, but it felt like it was a moot point, going from her performance to his.

Forward this link to your cable provider and tell them to read the text at the bottom of the page under the Lincoln Memorial.

If this doesn't work, go to a friend's house that has Dish Network, a HD television with at least a 46" screen, and home theater. The event is absolutely incredible when viewed in 1080i with good speakers.

Do you have your guide button set to All Subscribed rather than All Channels?

Keep pressing the button and it toggles between HD Channels, Subscribed Channels, and All Channels. That's what happens on the Dish Network receiver I have.
