Tkay,
I swallow a TBL of Carlson's Lemon-Infused Cod Liver Oil before dinner every night. I've been doing this since May, at the request/advice of my physician. It was recommended to me primarily for the DHA, the Vitamin D and the omega-3s. I take no other supplement. I take the cod liver over fish oil because cod liver has Vitamin D, of which, like many northern residents, I have a deficiency.
My overall health has improved significantly since May, for a variety of reasons- one of which I do believe is the daily dose. I've got a follow-up appt in a couple of weeks- we're taking a hormone/vitamin panel on me-so I'll be to see what, if any, differences have emerged.
I take the oil straight, no chaser- just a glutton for punishment, I guess. Really, it's not bad at all, especially the lemon stuff. Oftentimes I just pour it on my salad or veggies.
