    Tape jammed in VCR.....

    A tape is jammed in my VCR. And, now when I press eject, nothing happens. Just get an error.

    Any ideas --- or is the machine finished.

    Thanks,

    Well, make sure it's unplugged first, but then if it has an exterior shell, you should be able to remove that by undoing a few screws. Once you have the shell open you can get a better look and possibly maneuver the tape out of the player.

    Might be the same as the DVD???

    I know that computer DVD drives have a small pinhole just below and to the left (generally) of the DVD slot. You push a straightened paper clip or other stiff and skinny device into that hole and push fairly hard and it actually manually forces the drive open.my file;

    Try unplugging it and plugging it back in after 10 - 15 minutes. Sometimes that works.
