Help with Simple Dress for Bride-To-Be

I have a friend who is getting married the Friday after Thanksgiving.

It's a story book romance. Her husband died about 10 years ago. The man she broke up with to date and then marry her husband, waltzed back into her life, this year, swept her off her feet and they are now getting married.

She wants something simple, not a full scale bride's dress...has been looking at mother-of the bride dresses, but not with much luck.

Any ideas for a dress for a place to start looking? She is in her early 60's...and we are all so excited for her.

You said you looked at the MOB dresses, I was going to suggest that.
Also if the wedding is informal, just look at all the regular dresses in stores, you may find one appropriate for a wedding.
Also look at destination wedding dresses, they are more casual.
Does she want white or ivory?

She is looking for something in Ivory. I will look at destination dresses.

I'm a big believer in getting something made. However, it may just be bc I don't fit off the rack very well.

BTW - thanks for posting the details of your friend's story. It is always great to hear of people who have found happiness after a tragedy.

When I got married on the beach, I wanted a very simple dress and found that most bridesmaid dresses can be ordered in white or ivory. Huge $$ savings and there's literally thousands of styles, colors, fabrics to choose from.
