Help I put too much thyme in my chicken vegetable soup what can I do to reduce this taste?

b) add more chicken broth/vegetable broth to the pot, taking out a cupful or so of the overseasoned stuff first. taste it after you add the new broth. then if it is still a little strong, add an exta carrot sliced thin, a little more celery, and maybe a few extra noodles or a handful of rice, or an extra diced potato. these starchy things will soak up some of the seasoning and addd some of their own flavors, especially the carrot. a little bit of fresh lemon rind could help, if that wouldn't be outrageous in your particluar chicken soup. my mom seasoned hers with a few whole allspice berries.
