Baked Pesto Zucchini with Squash Blossoms

This recipe was in the weekly newsletter from the farmers' market and I can't wait to try it! Anne Gingrass worked for Wolfgang Puck and Mark Peel early in her career and I love her food.

I have always wanted to like squash blossoms... my Dad used to grow zucchini simply for the blossoms! Somehow I could never bring myself to try one. The bright yellow color looks so nice, but somehow I just can't get over eating a flower. Maybe I'll have to give it a go this summer!

OMG, PIzzaiolo in Oakland has the most fantastic stuffed squash blossoms! I bought some blossoms last summer to try my hand, and then chickened out because of my Fear of Frying. I was afraid I'd they'd be disgusting and then I'd never be able to enjoy them again .

I have a basil plant in my dining room, so maybe I'll make pesto this week and try the dish on Saturday. If I do it I'll be sure to post back.

OK... you had me laughing out loud!! I totally understand... I have a few recipes that I don't make because I'm just sure I'll mess them up and I don't want to ruin my thoughts of it!
