Trying to find a better price (than the salon I go to) for these two products, so ...

A couple of weeks ago I got the Simply Smooth Keratin Treatment, to help tame my mane. From someone that has tried lots of things, I will say that it did hel with the frizz, and drying my hair straight is easier.

Anyway, they recommend that you use their shampoo and condiditioner to help maintain/extend the treatment (I think its the sodium chloride that you don't want in the product).

When I got it done, they included a bottle of the shampoo and conditioner, and it looks like they normally sell it for $23.90 each for a womping 8.5 ounce bottle. I am looking for the Simply Smooth Xtend Keratin Replenishing Conditioner, and the Shampoo.

Any suggestions of websites that sell hair/beauty salon products would be great. You can't get it at a Sally's type place.

I did find it for $19.12 (not including shipping) but not familiar with that site (goodlookingdiscounts). From a quick glance, Amazon same price as the salon. Haven't dug into it yet. And, hoping that perhaps I can find larger size bottles that come out even cheaper.

    Thanks.

Sorry I don't have any advice on that particular product, but I did want to suggest looking on www.makeupalley.com for reviews. I've had some luck there finding less expensive substitute products that work well. Good luck!

Hmmm, so I after searching Bizrate.com etc, I found a couple of places that sold larger bottles of the shampoo and conditioner -- which comes out considerably cheaper per ounce.

One of the websites, Saveonu.com, looks like it has the best prices by far. But I've never heard of them. I took a quick look on the BBB site, and no info. Plus, I can't seem to find an actual live address -- which always makes me cautious.

Of course, I want to make sure I'm getting the real thing.

The other places, a good $25 more, I'm either familiar with or had good rating on BBB etc.

So any tips on when ordering something from an unknown company or do you basically just go for it, assuming you have some protection if you use your cc. And didn't see any redflags on BBB.

All I know is I better order something soon.... not much conditioner left.

    Thanks.

I've had good luck finding salon products on eBay and will often do that rather than ordering from an unknown online source.

For any online transaction, even known merchants, we only use "virtual cards" which we can set to single use and maximum dollar amount. They are available through our CC issuers' websites or via a downloadable program from that website.

A quick Google search for the site you mentioned shows it's a GoDaddy website and the business has been around since August. Not a lot of history.

Thanks Mkc for the info. Never used "virtual cards" before, thanks for the details.

I'm going to order from the site I'm familiar with. It comes out to a lot cheaper per ounce if I get the biggest bottle. And, special shipping of a $1 and no tax.

    Thanks again.
