Do you *shake* your apple cider?!

Planning to make hot mulled cider and bought a new gallon jug of (pasteurized) apple cider to use. It has some sediment on the bottom.

Do you guys shake first, then use?

Or pour carefully and try to avoid the sediment?

    THANK YOU!

I've always been a shaker -- with orange juice too.

I shake everything but canned coconut milk--where I want that separated cream.
