What a loss.... she had an incredible voice.

I hope it wasn't drug related. Sorry to see she's died.

Oops---the publicist listed in that article is the publicist that's still listed for her.

It has been officially confirmed, though.

    Sad, but true.

I just heard this on the news. So very, very sad. It really is upsetting to me - such a waste of a great talent

I was sad to hear the news. Just yesterday morning I was looking through old CDs and my 17 year old son came in the room and happened to pick up one of hers (Whitney) and commented how beautiful she was. I answered back how she has been such a mess over the years but I heard she had just filmed a movie and hopefully things were turning around. I really feel for her daughter.

So sad to hear this. she had the best, absolutely the best voice I'd ever heard. so sad that she was unable to find peace in her life.

Bill Flanagan said it well on CBS Sunday Morning:

"Whitney Houston was a public figure her whole adult life. She battled her demons in the public eye. Today, everyone will praise her. Tonight at the Grammys, she will be paid tribute. In the next few days she will be eulogized. That's as it should be, she deserves it.

But wouldn't it be great if all of us could then leave it at that? Let's ignore the gossip press and scandal media that will try to exploit her memory now that she can't defend herself.

Whitney Houston touched millions of us, but she does not belong to us. She was someone's daughter. She was someone's mother. Her memory, like her love, belongs to them.

The rest of us will always have her music.

When the eulogies have ended, let's let Whitney Houston rest in peace."

Very much agree here, but I do hope that our young people can learn that even the famous and icon quality stars are not immortal; neither are they.
