    Microsoft Joining Recovery Efforts

September 11 was a day of shock and sadness for people around the world. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy.

Microsoft is making a donation of $10 million in cash and technical services to support the relief and recovery efforts in New York City and other areas affected by the tragic events of September 11. The company will make a $5 million cash donation to the “September 11th Fund” established by The United Way of New York City and New York Community Trust. In addition, the company will pledge $5 million in technical services, including Microsoft® Consulting Services, volunteer hours and software, to the recovery effort and organizations serving people in the affected areas.
