Help please. Need poem for teacher appreciation.

I have no clue where to look.

I have to make a scrapbook for teacher appreciation week. Each kid is making one page. I need to do the cover. I thought I'd put a poem about teachers on it. But all the ones I have found seem geared towards older classrooms or too cutesy or mention God.

This is a public school kindergarten class.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? A website or book maybe?

I found a book review in the NYT from the fall - about school related poems by Shel Silverstein. In the series they did have some examples, and this one caught my eye - the "WRITESINGTELLDRAW" poem at the bottom of the page.

The last phrase seems to be the question to which your kids are responding in these scrapbooks?

I'd go to the library and find a few poetry books meant for children-- probably something in there.

How about a quote about teachers along with a nice picture, perhaps of all of the kids?

What about doing a word splash style cover and ask the kids to think of one word to describle the teacher. I love doing stuff like that with little kids because you'll get some good ones. Of course you'll get ones like pretty/handsome/smart/friendly but I'm sure you'll get some who are unclear on the concept and will say words like porkchop, eraser, and so on, which just makes it funny
