The trouble with not using a recipe

Darn, I was afraid this would happen last night. I wanted to make Raspberry Chicken Wings, but most of the recipes called for Raspberry Jam. I didn't have any. So, I rounded up everything else in the kitchen with raspberries. Raspberry Chipotle Barbeque Sauce, Walnut Rasberry Vinegarette, Raspberry Vinegar, Maple Syrup, Cranberry/Raspberry Sauce, and a little Smoked BBQ Sauce. So a little of each, not measured, just mixed together in a large bowl. Marinated wings 1/2 hr., baked in oven 450 for approx. 45 minutes. Yep, they turned out delicious. Will I ever get the same mixture again. Nope

Kudos to you for imagination. I'm one that has to use a recipe. I will tweak them, but for the most part I'm very unimaginative. Boring......

Thanks Tiekitty A few minute ago I went into the freezer to get out some blueberries. Guess what I found? Yep, 1/2 bag of raspberries.

Aw, always a bummer when you can't remember exactly how to make a fantastic recipe. But that just means you get to experiment more in the kitchen Perhaps next time, it'll be even better!

Sometimes it's too tedious, but I love the idea I took from what used to be my favorite cooking show, "Chef at Home" - the "kitchen journal". I had a nice notebook and took careful notes on every dish I made up or adapted wildly. It's really a lovely personal cookbook but as I said, of course sometimes you just want to make the darned dish and not weigh every dose of Parmesan, diced carrot, and shredded chicken breast. But something to keep in mind, just for fun

There are times that food is delicious when it is not written in cookbook or something else. One thing that I can see is because we can explore different spices and seasoning. I remember one time I was cooking food adding different seasonings like pepper, garlic, basil, olive oil and many more and the outcome become delicious. After I done cooking it my friends told me what are the seasoning and recipe added there but cannot remember and on that day it become my trouble because I do not know do it again.

    Ah!!!!
That sounds like the younger me when I kept a Farm Wife journal and made daily notes of everything down to the foods planted, canned and frozen as well as cooking adventures. In those days everything was an adventure. Now the notes I make are for State Fair entries and recipes I am tweeking for my gluten-free neighbor.

any dance you do, any song you sing, any child's smile, will not be the same way twice, either.

I wouldn't forgo their pleasures because of it!
