A 'Fresh' Supper Is The Best

This evening's meal was grilled fresh Alaskan sockeye salmon, grilled fresh corn-on-the-cob, fresh beet greens, frozen wax beans (from last summer's garden), and fresh watermelon. WOW! What a feast.

That sounds delicious! I love summer for all of its fresh offerings.

It's amazing how we spend all year trying new recipes with challenging flavors and then a simple fresh menu makes us drool.

That's what I love most about summer ... food that's cooked very quickly or not at all ... allowing all that wonderful fresh flavor to shine.

Sounds wonderful. Did someone have to hold an umbrella over you so the grill could get going?

No. Actually, yesterday was quite nice. The day before, however, when I fired up the grill to do a pizza, it started raining and the grill is not under cover.

In western Washington, summer doesn't really start until after July 4th.
