    Goodbye Jake - my buddy

My constant companion of 15 years went over the bridge Tuesday after a long battle of trying to regulate his high blood pressure and failing. He went peacefully under his favorite tree on the soft green grass. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, with Dh being out of town, as this was not planned, but I had my mom and best friend with us.

I can't believe he made it two years after I asked here how do you know whe it is time.

This was taken several years ago, but I just love his personalty shining in it.

My Jakeypoo, you will always be in my heart.

I hope your memories last a lifetime. What a beautiful boy!!
They love us unconditionally, and it sounds like he had an amazing buddy as well.

Laurie, my heart is breaking for you. His love was unconditional, you can see what a sweetie he is in that photo. Let your tears of love for Jake flow.

Today has been very hard thinking of losing Sweety a month and a half ago, lots of tears and now I'm crying for you and Sir Jake, too. Some days it's overwhelming, some days it's okay. Hugs to you.

One post of joy (for Kay) and one post of sadness. That is the most beautiful picture. I am sure Jake hated to leave you and his beautiful home.

I am so sorry for your loss. I feel such sadness for you. It is so hard to lose a pet; they are so good to us and bring us so much joy and we want to do everything we can to keep them happy and healthy.

I'm so sorry. What a wonderful, sweet companion you had for 15 years. That's a long time. Jake just loved you so much he didn't want to leave yet when you asked two years ago.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

I am so sorry! It's so painful to let them go...I know you take comfort in the wonderful life he had with you and the peaceful passing you provided for him. They are always with us in our hearts.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, it means so much to me. MY SIL just said he was one of a kind, I had to laugh because he truly was.

Now to concentrate on Wylie, she is 15 too. She is kind of spaced, and wandering the house, like she does not know what to do. I pray not to have to do this again so soon.

I'm so sorry, Laurie. I just found out yesterday that another 15-year-old dog whom we knew well also just died

    Hugs and condolences.

If only humans could speak as eloquently with their words as dogs like Jake speak with their eyes. Jake left a hole in your and Wylie's hearts as large as his presence during his life. I pray comfort for you both and, for you, the courage to gift another special friend with your love.
