I guess I did something right! I am down 1.2 pounds...I don't feel like it but the scales reflect it (and they are computerized). I will stay on course as much as possible over the 3 day weekend but we are going to visit family (and darling mil loves to make mayonaise potato salad which I love and ham...and then insist that you eat on Saturday and probably left overs on Sunday. I just have to keep reminding myself everything in moderation...

Denise have fun camping and the weather sounds like it will be the perfect temperatures...

Kay I have the same problem with the Wii! They always seem to forget me...

Everyone have a wonderful week and enjoy the long weekend and look for a September Thread when you return!! Can you believe how fast the year is going??????

Congratulations Pam! Way to go! For me at least, losing when I didn't expect to is even better.

If all the forecasters are right, Isaac's aftermath is going to affect the entire state of Arkansas. My DH, who loves camping more than life itself, told me this morning that we need to hold off for a day or two. Two years ago, Camp Albert Pike in the Ouachita National Forest, got unusal amounts of rain which caused the Little Missouri River to swell, and with no warning whatsoever (and in the middle of the night) the water rose to 30' and flooded the entire area. It was awful. It was on CNN and The Weather Channel for days, and over 20 people, more than half of them small children, died. Dozens more were injured. Needless to say, Camp Albert Pike is permanently closed and lawsuits abound. We camp about six miles from there, on the water, so we're not taking any chances. We're actually forecasted to get anywhere from six to 10 inches. Which is too much, of course, following a drought. My DH wants to play it by ear and see if we can head out on Saturday, but that's up in the air too. I have changed my time off though. I'll work all week and take next Tuesday and Wednesday off. I plan to go to Weight Watchers tomorrow night now, unless the deluge has started here. We live in such a mountainous place that our road floods when we get a lot of rain. Believe it or not, schools here have been known to close because of flooding. Besides being so mountainous and remote, many of our roads aren't paved (including mine).

So most likely (and if the creek don't rise ), I'll be checking in on Friday.

Denise... good idea to delay the trip. flooding is bad enough but mud slides can be a problem too. nothing stops a plan like a road buried in mud and trees! after a drought when the ground is hard, more runs off and makes flooding worse. we tend to have the worst slides after a season of rain but trees in full leaf can bring down a hillside. Oh heck, just one big tree ( without the hillside) across a road can cause a lot of grief. we're careful not to get trapped someplace where it's not easy (or not possible) to get out. we have roads here that routinely close with heavy rain and every year some foolish person drives across and needs to get rescued.

we're back from our 4 day trip, kind of disappointing. aunt in assisted living not doing well, SIL & BIL having health problems too. weather was good but our plan to mt bike the beach didn't work out. beach didn't get firm enough even at low tide and it was impossible. did see some great birds and river otters on a non productive fishing trip.

DH is on call over the holiday tho we usually stay home. too crowded and busy most places to try to go anywhere.

I'm not going anywhere near a scale until a couple days to normalize. I was careful with eating but very inactive several days. lots of sitting and driving.

Valerie, you're so right about flooding and mud and trees. We've seen it here before, so we're very cautious. We never put ourselves in any position that would compromise our safety. My DH won't even sit in a public place unless he's facing out. It's disappointing, though, for both of us. And who knows? Since I'm taking Tuesday and Wednesday off, we may still get to go for a couple of days.

I know what you mean about being inactive. Just driving for a few hours at a time now leaves me stiff. I've increased my activity probably 200% or more in the last year, and I like the way I feel these days.

Sorry about your family too. I know that's tough. Been there.

Congrats! Don't question it - just accept it!

Denise - better to be safe. Hopefully your area isn't getting soaked and you'll be able to go afterall. GL on your weigh-in tonight.

I weighed in this morning and am down another .5 lbs. I'll take it. I was doing so well, and then yesterday was one of those days I felt like I had to keep eating. I ate extra fruit, thinking it would help, but it didn't. Then I came across an unopened package of Kraft caramels (expired in July) and ate a serving (5 of them for 5 pts). Oh well, that seemed to help, so it was worth it. Sometimes we just have to give in to get on with it.

Hope everyone has a great labor day weekend. We have no plans as of yet, but I'm fine with that.

Good morning everyone! I was down 1.2 pounds last night, so I feel pretty good today! I was surprised because this was one of the weeks I ate almost all of my 49 extra points. You just never know. When I have a good loss, it's always so motivating.

There were only 8 of us at the meeting last night. Until summer started, we had 40 or more. During the summer months, we've averaged about 25 to 30, which is normal according to my leader. I know last night's small group was a result of fear over Issac. It started raining here around 3:00 p.m. and it hasn't stopped yet. But thank goodness, we're on the west side of the storm, so we're not getting near the amount of rainfall as eastern Arkansas is. This morning, after about 15 hours of rain, we only had gotten a little over an inch. Which is perfect following our drought. It's supposed to rain through tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully we'll end up with a couple of inches. And next Thursday, my DH and I will leave on our rescheduled camping trip.

The President is closing the college today at noon so we can all get an early start on Labor Day. He's very popular and well liked.

    Have a great holiday everyone!

    Denise, Congratulations on the loss!

I do hope that the storm/rain passes through quickly so you can get on with your weekend plans...we are heading to St. Louis later today...I imagine it will be impossible to avoid rain...hopefully we get a good portion of the way before we get into it. If it gets too bad we will stop for the night and head out in the light of morning, better than driving in the rain after dark.

    Once again congratulations!!!

Congrats - great job. I have actually found that I lose better too when I eat more, so rather than aiming for my 26 pts, I'm planning on eating around 30 for the next few weeks to see if what happens. I only got 28 in yesterday, so today I might try for 32.

I started with a personal trainer this week (she is also a nutritionist). I showed her my meals for 4 days... and she said also... more points! More protein... of course, I'm working out about 60 minutes a day now so need more... she said 1200/1400 and every now and again 1600 (she actually said have another glass of wine). I'm not really trying to lose weight with her, but to tone back up what I lost this year with my health issues.

Now, THAT's a trainer I could work with! It's always nice to have validation. Hope you can kick it into gear, and get back in shape! After all, you have little Sly to take care of!!!

You go, girl! I do water aerobics 4 to 5 days a week, but no one has ever said to have another glass of wine!
