    Shrimp in Asiago Caesar Sauce

So it's been a while since I posted but I made this recipe last week and I loved it and I have to share.

It's no wonder that the guy who came up with this recipe won the contest.

Charcoaled Shrimp in Asiago Caesar Sauce

    Ingredients
    • 1/3 bottle of BRIANNAS Asiago Caesar Dressing
    • 1/4 finely chopped clove of fresh garlic
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
    • 2 tablespoons sour cream
    • 3 drops of hot sauce
    • 2 ounces of white wine
    • 1 lb peeled & deveined white shrimp without tails
    Directions
    1. Take all ingredients (except shrimp) and put into a saucepan over low to medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until the sauce starts bubbling. Turn off heat and cover.
    2. Place shrimp on a heated charcoal grill (can be cooked over oak, hickory or mesquite wood instead of charcoal) for about two minutes on each side or until pink.
    3. Remove shrimp from grill and place in a flat dish or platter about 1″ deep.
    4. Take warm sauce and gently pour over shrimp and garnish with chopped parsley.

    Makes: 2 servings

Wow! That looks really good, and I have all the ingredients on hand, except that brand of salad dressing... is that crucial? Could I just add a little asiago cheese to my regular caesar dressing?

Peronally I love Briannas Asiago Caesar Dressing so I would say it's a must.
But if you don't have the ingredients on hand you could try it the other way. But I would pick some Briannas up the next time you are at the store and try it again and let me know how they compare.

This looks wonderful Salt - thanks for posting. What is the liquid measure for 2 oz white wine? I think I'll make it next weekend but will probably have to use crab rather than shrimp (crab in summer and shrimp in winter here).

I served it as is with some crusty bread but rice would work well also.

I don't think so! Not when you need to make a round-trip of 194 miles to make sure you can find it!

Are you sure you can't find it? I buy it from time to time - I think even Super Target has it.

Thanks for posting the recipe, Salt. We love shrimp, so this might be something to try.

That's how far I would have to travel to find a Super Target. People who live in a city find it hard to believe there are actually towns that have only one grocery store.

Not only the very smallest towns, either. More and more towns have been losing their food chain stores. At least 10 stores have closed within a 30 mile area, due to the economy crunch. Once they have closed they seldom consider reopening when the economy improves.

Ouch. I didn't realize it was that bad. I don't live in a city, but have MANY choices, so I am thankful for that.

I finally found time to try this. We really enjoyed it. I used crab and made a quadruple batch of the sauce. We used half of the sauce and I will try the rest with halibut this weekend. I made a side of sauted green onions, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, and kalamata olives with herbs and garlic. I served it with ww fettuccini. We are having the left overs for lunch - DH got the last of the noodles and I'm eating mine with left over barley. The noodles were good but I think I like the barley better since my sauce came out thin. DH really loved this. I liked it but prefer a 'Greek style' dish. I guess I prefer the combination of olive oil, herbs, garlic, feta, and wine compared to Brianna's.
