    Whole Foods Opening!

Whoo, whoo! Our Columbia, SC store is slated to open next month. They announced they will stop taking work applications Monday. This means I won't have to drive to Charleston/Mt. Pleasant. I will report all the good "stuff" and ask for your reccomendations.

Our new Whole Foods opened two days ago. It's about 5 minutes from our house. I haven't been yet. the parking lot has been packed, but I can't wait to go.

You are so lucky! My nearest WF is in Birmingham, and there are several in Atlanta. I do find that I like TJ's better, and those are all in Atlanta! (2 hours away)

If you haven't done it already, "Like" Whole Foods Market, Columbia on Facebook and you will be updated on all of their sales and any special events at their store such as cooking class, gluten free classes, holiday cooking, etc.

I love their produce department! Going tomorrow to get a few things. Great breads too!

I used to live within very close proximity to several WF in the area and I moved a couple of years ago and now it is a 20 minute drive but a new one will be opening in December that will be just a few minutes drive and I am thrilled! (I used to work for WF, too, but I was a shopper there long before that so I can't wait for the new store-life will be much easier!)

TJ is opening in the former Columbia Athletic Club which is about a mile away from WF, but when I drove by recently it looked like organized chaos, so don't know what their status is. That area is just so conjested. You have to drive with eyes in four sides of your head. Right across the street is a Catholic high school which is relocating and that property is planned for redevelopment. Also, several new restaurants. No slowdown in economy there.

First time I've been disappointed in a WF's visit. No Italian plums, pricey Macintosh apples (but at least they had some), and no pumpernickel bread at the bakery.
