Dunno. Somehow I would think there would be soggy texture
These are the shiritake noodles.
There were a few posts on this.
They do not get soggy.
When you open the bag, it has a fishy smell, but you rinse and rinse and I toss very hot water (sometimes boiling) over it and they do not taste of anything....They work well for asian type meals because you are not expecting any sort of texture....
I have used them in mac/cheese, which is when I get desperate for mac & cheese
I've used the various shapes in various things...chicken noodle soup, asian peanut noodle type recipes, mac/cheese.
They get more rubbery the longer you cook them, but not by much.

Do you buy them individually or by the case as the ad seems to suggest? I would like to try them on an individual basis and not have to invest in a carload of them.
There are several stores here (refrigerated section, sometimes near the tofu) that carry them out here in nowheres-ville, and I buy a variety individually. I wait for a sale.
DH does not like them, but he will eat them when I use them, so I sometimes have them for lunch (a veggie like broccoli or spinach, the noodles and chicken broth) and heat through for a veggie chicken noodle soup. Sometimes I whisk in an egg to make it creamier (and more nutritious).
