I just bought 6 new Weight Watcher cookbooks....

Today, I'm going to try to finish the other 4 books, while looking for something I can make from pantry supplies!
Kay, which ones did you get? I just purchased 2 new ones from the WW web-sitem and 2 older desserts ones from amazon

I bought these at the meeting center --

Power Foods (may try to return that one, as it didn't appeal -- and a lot of the recipes are in other books)
Best Darn Food Ever -- I must have 30 tabs in that one!
I (heart) Leftovers -- make one dish, and serve the leftovers later as something else!!!
Haven't looked through:
Fresh, Fabulous, Fast 140 recipes under 30 minutes
Fruits and Veggies A to Z
Turn Up the Flavor

All are Points Plus cookbooks.

I knew I wouldn't get any for Christmas so bought myself some in the month or so leading up to Christmas

Supernatural Everyday (Heidi Swanson)
ATK Quick Family Cookbook
Soupbox Cookbook
Barefoot Contessa Foolproof
Keys to the Kitchen (Aida Mollekamp)
Simply Sensational Cookies (Nancy Baggett)

I picked up CI's Science of Good Cooking, but am returning it -- literally, every recipe is in the The Complete CI Cookbook. When will I learn my lesson?!

I want to get the new Everyday Food book, Meatless; I think it comes out tomorrow.

I did not even know there was a new Everyday Food book, so thank you, I just went and ordered it. Amazon also kindly suggested a new Mad Hungry book that is going to be released in March, so I ordered that one as well. I should probably stop reading this thread while I still have money in my pocket.

Elizabeth, I'm glad you found the book, because I just realized it's by Martha Stewart's Whole Living magazine, not Everyday Food

Alleycat,

Would you please put up a link to the Everyday book? I went to Amazon and dunno why but went round and round and couldn't find it. I can't buy one more cookbook or ebook or will end in debtor's prison...but maybe there will be a sample to view.

Thanks!

Catbatty, here you go. Don't know if you saw my correction -- I realized it's from Whole Living. That Martha Stewart empire is a machine!

BIL and SIL sent me my present late--an Amazon giftcard. So you can add (to my xmas haul lol):

A Girl and Her Pig, April Bloomfield
Whole Grains for a New Generation, Liana Krissoff
The Food 52 Cookbook, Volume 2

If only I could get back to cooking... I actually made my daughters make me a blueberry coffee cake today (from Carol Bloom's The Essential Baker, which I recently found used-Score!). I can't have anything with vanilla extract in it, and I was getting pretty desperate for some kind of baked good...

Muffins are for people who don't have the 'nads to order cake for breakfast.

Laura, why can't you have anything with vanilla in it? That is a tragedy for an avid baker.

Don't worry, it's temporary (and I can have vanilla seeds). It is bc I am on Flagyl from a C.Difficile infection (really nasty bacterial infection of the intestines from being on too many antibiotics the previous month). Flagyl and alcohol are such a bad combo that even vanilla extract in baked goods is a bad idea (as I learned the hard way, sigh).

Hey I was thinking about you though because guess what else I found when I found the Carol Bloom book? Marcy Goldman's Passion for Baking! I *had* to go to the used bookstore because (Half Price Books) every new year they hand out calendars with awesome coupons, and of course when I found those books I could hardly pass them by (despite having received a boatload over xmas), right? LOL...

I have not seen Theralac before around here. I am taking Culterelle (sp?) twice a day though.

Thanks for the reminder! Most of my baking books are on shelves in the basement now (when we renovated the kitchen, I lost a whole bookcase -- tragic!). DH just moved to a new firm, and these folks appreciate homemade goodies. Yippee!!! I can start baking, because I can send most of it somewhere else!!

And of course you needed more books, especially if they were on sale

Whew -- glad the vanilla thing is temporary. Sorry you've been sick enough to require so many meds though.
