    Iso molten lava cake recipe

I've never made a Molten Lava Cake, but I want to make some for Valentine's Day. I've found several recipes online, but would like to know if you have any TNTs? We don't usually indulge in dessert, so I'd like to make something new and special.

    TIA

This is my tried-and-true recipe. I've done with and without berries and alcohol, but usually serve with a small scoop of good vanilla ice cream.

Adding: Like Andy's recipe, these can be made ahead, too!

I use jean-george vongerichten's molten chocolate cake recipe and find it reliable and delicious. I find it works well baking it right away or making it earlier in the day and baking it at the last minute. The timing is critical and I've found 12 min to be too long usually - using glass ramekins it is set by that time in my pretty normal oven. 8 to 9 minutes is more like it, but may take more if refrigerated - do not let the cake set in the middle, it should still be good and soft in the middle when given a little shake. The recipe can be increased 1-1/2 or 2 x's to make 9 or 12 ramekins easily. Good served with a few raspberries and a scoop of good vanilla ice cream.
The recipe is from the chef who "invented" molten chocolate cakes.
Do use good chocolate if you can.
Salted butter can be used without a problem.
Cooked leftovers can be reheated, but don't microwave enough to "cook" them.
    Delicious!
    Cheers! Andy
