    Scones Question

This is probably insane but I was thinking about making the pumpkin scones and using my PC TBSP scoop instead of making it a round and scoring it.... Any comments?
You can't drink rum on the beach all day if you don't start in the morning.

When I make scones, the dough is not always that soft, but if you either measure your pumkpin a little bit on the generous side or it is a little wet, you could probably scoop it. I have seen drop scones done. The patting into a circle is so easy though, that I've just gone ahead and done it that way. If you try it, let us know how it works.

I make scones from scratch--usually--but I did a surprisingly delicious mix one a couple of weeks ago and it was a drop style. I really liked how they looked and how they came out. I like a mounded scone vs. a flat triangle thing.......
