Any reviews for green bean almandine from CL Complete?

Has anyone made green bean almandine from The Complete Cooking Light? I always have trouble making sure we have an actual VEGETABLE on our Thanksgiving table. I was thinking about trying this. What do you think?

have also made this and can recommend it. However, my favorite CL green bean recipe is on the same page of the Complete Cl Cookbook... Green Beans with Bacon-Balsamic Vinaigrette . I absolutely love that recipe!

    Thanks, Peggy!

Actually, I was trying to decide between the two different recipes and I also considered the balsamic vinagarette recipe. You made my decision for me. Thanks!!

    Janet,

Here is the recipe. It is outstanding!

    Green Beans with Bacon-Balsamic Vinaigrette

    2 lbs green beans
    2 bacon slices
    1/4 cup minced shallots
3 T coarsely chopped almonds (I have also used walnuts)
    2 T brown sugar
    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

Cook green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water. Drain beans well and set aside.
Cook bacon is a small skillet over medium high heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet. Crumble and set aside. Add shallots to bacon fat in skillet and saute 1 minute. Add almonds and saute 1 minute. Remove and cool. Add sugar and vinegar; stir until sugar dissolves. Add crumbled bacon to green bean mixture.

    Robyn,

Let me know how you like it, if you try it!

Pour vinaigrette over beans, tossing gently to coat.
