"Soy Nog?"

Hi all,
I spotted this in the grocery store last night when I popped in for some milk. Has anyone tried this? It is in a lovely green container, very festive, and although I love soy milk and egg nog, not sure what this would taste like.

Just wondering if someone has been brave although I'll probably end up buying a quart, because I am just so curious!

We saw Chai Nog at the store and that looked interesting. I haven't seen the soy. I would probably try it.

Soy Nog by White Wave (the makers of Silk) is WONDERFUL!! It tastes good and has a low amount of fat for an "eggnog". It is creamy, lightly spiced, and just YUMMY!!!! My husband and I enjoy it every year.

I've got to back up M4Star's recommendation, as I LOVE this stuff, and it's only available for a very short time! Also, it makes a yummy French Toast!

Another Soy Nog lover checking in. I really enjoy the stuff and have a container in the fridge. As Sara said it makes great french toast - I have also used it in pancakes and waffles and it was great. Even DH, who says he doesn't like soy nog (I think because he says he doesn't like soy milk) liked the pancakes and waffles with soy nog. enjoy!

It's Soy Nog time again! We are working on our second container and am sure we will go through a few more before the end of the season.

I'd never heard of it! Guess I wasn't paying attention. Seems like a natural now that I think of it. Goin' to Whole Foods tomorrow (and won't THAT be fun!) - I'll look for it there.

I'll have to look for it next time I shop. DH & I love Silk soy milk (and 8th Continent, too), so we'll have to try Soy Nog. Thanks for the rave reviews!

This french toast idea is making me think, do you use the Soy Nog in place of the egg mixture, do you add eggs to the Soy Nog? As you can tell, I have never vered off my basic french toast recipe

No no, you'd just use it for the milky part of your French toast batter. At least I would. Still with the eggs, y'know.

Of course, I do have a couple of recipes for vegan no-egg French toast... they've still got the (non-dairy) milky part and various other things for the rest... nutritional yeast, or flaxseeds, or tofu...

Funny to see a thread I started two years ago!

Soy Nog has become a holiday staple in our household. Last year I had a really hard time finding it for some reason. This year, when I spotted some, I bought three quarts. Better safe than sorry was my thinking!

We're big fans of SILK NOG... one of the many soy nogs on the market. We buy it along with regular eggnog all season, and (although the two are somewhat different), they're both delicious!

I'm also here to put in my vote for eggnog french toast. It's a lovely thing

So, is this fewer calories & fat than milk-based egg nog?? I've seen it & want to try it, but haven't read the labels yet.

Yes, and yes. There is fat in it, it's not fat-free, but of course it's all supposedly-good-for-you soy fat! It also has more protein than milk if I remember right.
