    substitute for lemon rind

Help! I need lemon rind and I have already shredded my lemons bald for other recipes. Can/should I substitute lemon juice? If so, what's conversion?

In my humble opinion, there is no substitution for lemon zest. Lemon juice isn't going to provide the same flavor. Do you have any lemon extract or lemon oil? If it was me though, I would run to the store or make something else. I know, I know, I didn't really help--sorry.

It totally depends on the recipe, but you can often substitute orange rind/zest. don't know if you have any of those lying around, but thought I'd throw that option in.

Most cookbooks list lemon extract as a substitute for lemon zest.

    lemon rind

I've used line rind instead of lemon and vice versa. I have never had anyone comment that the something was odd about the dish.
