    Punch Recipes neded

My Dh is having an art show here in Victoria and we are having a reception on Sunday March 3rd.
I really need a good punch recipe- believe it or not I have never made one for a big crowd! Help please!!! I have no idea how many people will show up but plan on about 60.

    Oh yes-non-alcoholic please!

    I've got a great one!

IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY EASIER ( OR TASTE ANY BETTER ) THAN THIS! IN FACT, BUY THE INGREDIENTS AND MAKE A GLASSFUL AND SEE FOR YOURSELF! This one isn't even expensive, but tastes like it!

    ! ROUND CONTAINER PINEAPPLE SHERBERT
1 (2 LITER) BOTTLE OF CRANBERRY GINGERALE

Pour the Cranberry GingerAle into a punch bowl and add the pineapple sherbert. I served this at several parties during the Holidays and everyone was asking for the recipe. If you do choose this one to try, let me know what you think. A friend, who went to his company's out- of- town catered Christmas Party, got the recipe from the Caterer and shared it with me.
    Good luck!

OK, you'd have to adjust this to serve a crowd, but I served this at my sister's bridal shower and it was a big hit-people said it tasted like a good, fruity mixed drink-without the alcohol.
Sorry for the horrid directions, this is a made-up recipe.

    Jen's Pineapple-Strawberry Punch

    Serves about 10-12

1 quart good quality pineapple juice (I like Looza)
    2 liters ginger ale
1 bag frozen unsweetened strawberries, thawed, pureed, and forced through a sieve to remove any seeds
Simple sugar syrup to taste(1 part sugar to one part water, heat on stove for 10 minutes or until sugar dissolves)

    How I make it:
I puree the strawberries in the blender. Honestly, I don't force it through a sieve unless I have time. It doesn't make THAT much of a difference. I add the sugar syrup to the strawberries until they are slightly sweet (the puree will be a frightening shade of red). Then I pour the pineapple juice and strawberry mixture into a punch bowl, stir, then add the ginger ale. I start with about a liter, then taste it-it may need more. You can float pieces of pineapple in the punch if you wish. Serve over ice in cups. Yummy.

Kima, my favorite punch is from Canadian Living - you can either add the booze or leave it out. I always make this, and someone always leaves with the recipe.

    Berry Punch

2 cans frozen raspberry juice concentrate
    1 can cranberry cocktail concentrate
    1 can frozen lemonade concentrate
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (or more for extra tang)
2 (12 oz) cans ginger ale
4 (12 oz) cans club soda
1 bottle rose or white wine OR 1/4 cup vodka (OPTIONAL)

In a large bowl, combine frozen concentrates and lemon juice. Let thaw - mix well and refrigerate until needed. (I let the concentrates thaw in the refrigerator and them mix them together).

At serving time, add the carbonated beverages and wine (if using).

Serve with lots of ice. Makes about 16 cups.

Note: you can use any juices. If you cannot find raspberry juice on its own, you can substitute 3 cans of a cranberry / raspberry blend for the first two items. I just use whatever size the juices come it - no measuring needed.

I also like to make an ice ring (use a tube pan or mold) and place berries, lemon slices, etc. along with some water or juice, and freeze. It looks pretty when floating in a punch bowl.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I am not sure which one I'll use- but I will use one of them for sure!
The reception is not at our house but at a lovely old house that rents out space, I will have to make it there and the kitchen is not much to write home about. I am buying all of the food- just too stressful for me to make it all myself. I sure admire those people on the BB who would make food for 60!! (you know who you are! ). Thanks again. Any more suggestions would be most welcome as well. Maureen

Here's another thread about the same thing.

I highly recommend the one posted by both Pat and Schuh - Open House Punch/Orange-Juice Banana Punch. They are almost the same recipe.

I made this around the holidays and it was really fabulous, and serves a ton.

This punch recipe is used most frequently in our community. It is served at most every tea that we host for new brides. It has become a tradition to host a tea before the wedding for any young lady that we know. Since I taught for 31 years at the high school level, I know most of the young ladies being married. I wish I had started keeping count years ago of the teas that I have helped to host. We have finger foods and punch and invite friends of the bride and her family to help her celebrate. A great way to keep in touch with everyone.

Pat and I were posting around the same time. The one she typed is the recipe I mentioned that's in the other thread. It's awesome; I highly recommend it.

My favorite punch was discontinued long ago. It was Country Time's pink lemonade punch. It was a powdered mix, but it was actually the only punch I ever liked.

I think the question was pretty much a request for a punch recipe, not something that was no longer available.

Wanted to thank you all again for the punch recipes. I was already to make Funnybones Berry Punch but I never made it to the opening of my DH's show- my MIL had to be rushed to the hospital. We figured Ron had to be at his own show!!! Next time though!

Sorry to hear about your MIL, Kima. I hope she recovers soon!
I'm sure you would have enjoyed the punch. If you get another chance, I hope you try it.

I'm searching for a punch recipe and came across this one, looks good but I'm confused. Are the 12oz juices concentrates or do you buy small cans of ready made juice.

Sorry I just came across your question, 9 months later. Looking for punch ideas of my own, something new. Anyway, I meant cans of concentrate.

Hey, I was impressed that it was eight months to the day. I'm just a bit slow on the uptake.
