    Question Dried mushrooms...conversion for fresh?

I'm getting ready to make the wild mushroom sweet potato gratin but planned to use dried porcini and dried morrels(sp?).....I've checked a few websites and am getting conflicting conversions as to how much dried equals fresh....

suggestions??? 1 oz dry to 6 oz fresh???
and those that have made this, do you think dried will be OK???? Would adding dried shitakes be too much?? H..e...l...p!!

    I guessed

I was in a hurry to make dinner, so I just guessed....
I used close to 3oz or so (i'm sure my scale is not accurate)of dried mushrooms (porcini, morrel and 3 shitakes)...
    YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM
I may have even used montery jack cheese instead of fontina

DH is not overly fond of mushrooms, but he loved this recipe!

I'll have to try it with the original ingredients and see how it compares....
