Smile We arrived and in our new home!

    Hello Friends,

We are finally here and moved in on Thursday. Closing went smoothly and it was an emotional one. There were a lot of memories in our home...22 years worth. Our realtor gave us a framed watercolor painting of our old house and I broke down and cried. It is so beautiful and I pick it up and look at it every time I pass it by. The kitchen is almost unpacked and ready to enjoy.

I think there is always a little bit of grieving when you leave a home behind, no matter how glad you are to be in the new house. Then you start to turn the new house into a home. If the kitchen is almost ready, you're halfway there.

Hope it doesn't take too long before you are all settled in and enjoying your new place.

    Cool

    Hi Sue!

Delighted to hear you're in your new home. What a lovely gesture, giving you that framed watercolor. Not only do you have a lot of memories of that home, but a lasting and visual reminder as well. That's downright story-bookish.

The best part is that you get a chance to start a whole new storybook in a new location. Wishing you endless joy in the new house.

    Thumbs up

    Mamasue,

Whoo hoo! I am so happy for you!! I know how long you were counting down the days. Do enjoy your new kitchen (and the rest of the house, but as we know the kitchen is the most important), and best wishes to you and yours in the lovely new home.

    Sue,
We have all been waiting for this good news from you.
I have always had a difficult time adjusting from an old house to a new one; but hopefully your adjustment will go smoothly. I am sure you will love your new home and feel like I have been going every step of the way with you since you have kept us so well posted.

Mamasue, I so happy that you are in your new house and, most importantly, your new kitchen!! That is incredibly sweet that your realtor gave you a painting of your old home.

Have fun getting settled and bake some cookies as soon as possible. Then it will feel like home!

And a big Congratulations from me too! Having moved many times myself, and only a few months ago I know what an upheaval moving can be. It will take awhile and a few meals but soon you will be comfy cozy!! As Laura said- make a batch of cookies )if you can find your cookie sheets!!!) and that will help make the new house your home! Hi Sue!

Great news! Congratulations! That was a very nice thing that your realtor did. I am not in the least bit surprised that the kitchen is almost unpacked. I'm sure that having everything packed up made you crazy. Btw: Have a wonderful Mother's Day in your new home!
Life is all about a$$; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, behaving like one, or you live with one.

How exciting!!! May you & your family have many wonderful years in your new home!!!

When we bought our home 18 years ago, it had been in the same family for almost 120 years. The realtor had a friend create a drawing of the main house and gave it to the couple who sold us the house. We visited the wife a few years ago (she is 90-some years old and in an assisted-care facility) and she still had the drawing hanging in her little living room. I'm sure that you'll cherish your realtor's thoughtful gift as much as Mrs. H. did!

Sue, I've been thinking of you too... Hope you are happily settled in your new place, and I hope to see you soon (accidentally or on purpose!). I love that your realtor gave you the watercolor of your home. How sweet. Happy Belated Mother's Day. Martha
