Bought some fresh chives last Wednesday but I never got around to using them. Does anyone know how long they keep in the refrigerator? I did a search on this btw and didn't come up with any results
I've kept them in the fridge for a few weeks. I think it partially depends on how thick they are. After a week or two, the small/thin ones will start to brown, but heartier chives should still be ok.
I've found that fresh herbs keep much longer in the fridge if you wrap them in a damp paper towel, then put them in a plastic bag. I've had cilantro keep for a couple of weeks that way. This would probably work for your chives, too.
