As I was culling through the last year of posts searching for Funnybone's name (pretty sad, no??), I realized that Becca hasn't posted since July. Does anyone know how she's doing?

Thankyou Robyn for starting this theread. i have been wondering about her too!

I saw her online about a week ago. I sent her a PM, sending her good thoughts and asking how she was doing. It was bounced back to me, saying her PM box was full and that they'd send her an e-mail notifying her.
Hopefully they're all notes saying "Come back, Becca!! Hope you're doing alright!!!"

I can't believe that anyone noticed that I was gone! I am so sorry that I haven't been on the board or in touch with anyone. I still can't figure out how to get my prlvate messages.
Anyway, it has been a difficult past few months, but also a time of learning and growth. I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy (basically nerve damage in my body) which the doctors believe is a direct result of all of the harsh chemotherapy drugs that I got. It is good to know why I have been having so much pain and sensory loss, but also unsettling to know that this is something that I will have to deal with for a long time. I finally have a great neurologist and pain doctor and I'm feeling a little bit better with the new drug regime. I still have to go through a spinal tap in two weeks and a nerve biopsy just to be extra sure that none of this is related to cancer. Once that's over, I think that I will have more time to focus on happier things like this board.
I am so sorry to have been out of touch. I miss you all and thank you for your thoughts. Peace
love
Becca
a big <<<<<HUG>>>>> to you, you are in my prayers!!
You need to go to User CP. Then hit private messages. Click on beginning and read/delete your messages. Also go to tracking and do the same thing. Sent messages as well. The PM's really add up quickly but no one tells you how to delete them![]()

Thank you for checking in. You are in my thoughts and prayers too.
Life is all about a$$; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, behaving like one, or you live with one.

Becca my good wishes go along with everyone else's. Come by when you can, because we miss you, but take whatever time you need.
I'm glad to hear you're working with a neurologist that you like. My mom has periperhal neuropathy as a result of long-term Lyme Disease and it has been painful and above all frustrating for her for years now (she can't put on earrings, she can't open doorknobs, for two whole years my dad had to hook her bra for her). I don't know if neuropathy differs based on the cause, but once you've determined absolutely that that's what you're dealing with, you might at least ask your neurologist about Neurontin. It was originally designed as an epilepsy drug, but is gaining huge use off-label for a variety of things, including peripheral neuropathy. my mom's been on it about a month, and is AMAZED--the first 6 days she was calling me about every 3-4 hours as new sensations came back and she realized she could do certain things again. It has certainly made a tremendous difference to her, so you might want to at least inquire about whether it would be an appropriate treatment option for you.
Our luck and love goes with you.
Becca, I don't know if you still read the board anymore, but I wanted to bump this thread up and let you know that I am thinking of you. Hope you are having a great holiday with your family.
Laura and everyone else-
You are all so kind.. I have been actually doing a bit better, my pain is under control and I have started working full time as a nutritionist at WIC. It is wonderful because I can finally use my education and also really help people., The bakery was fun, but I missed the human contact.
My neuropathy is something that I've just come to accept. It's tough to know that I will never run, or bike again, but I am really getting into yoga and ballet (I bought the NY Ballet workout tape) . So my life is quite peaceful and calm these days.
I will continue to read the postings here and try to reply when I have the time. I love "catching" up with how everyone is doing, you all are such wonderful people.
Happy holidays everyone!!
Becca
