What are your favorite Burt's Bees products?

For those who don't know, Burt's Bees makes all-natural, earth-friendly toiletries (lotions, creams, soaps, shampoos, etc.). I've bought a lot of their stuff before as gifts for other people, but never for myself. When I was shopping last night at Central Market, I noticed that they have a huge selection of Burt's Bees stuff, so I browsed for awhile. A bunch of things caught my eye, and I will probably end up picking up a little starter set to try some different products, but I'm curious as to which your favorites are. I'd especially love feedback on the lemon butter cuticle cream, the almond milk beeswax hand cream, and the coconut foot cream. Those are the ones that caught my eye.

I did end up buying DH a little shave set that he's always wanted, with a shaving mug, brush, and shaving soap. He loved it. So now it's my turn.

You can check out their products at www.burtsbees.com if you're interested.

Thumbs up Lemon butter cuticle cream

    Hi Eva!
I use this every night and I really like it. It smells heavenly too. It's not oily, and my skin absorbs it pretty quickly.

My FIL borrowed my tin last time he was up and he ended up claiming it for his own and swears by it now too.

Beeswax Lip Balm - Minty, and man, it works like no other lip balm. It tastes like Doublemint Gum.

Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream: Swear by it in the winter. Great scent, and it works. It's easy to slip into your purse and use it when you've got a few spare moments.

Orange Essence Facial Cleanser: I love the smell, but it didn't work well on my face. (I have an oily complexion.) I sent it to my mother, who loves this stuff. Her complexion is fairly dry, and it's gentle enough with the added benefit of moisturizing.

Pore Refining Mask: I like anything with green clay in it, and this is no exception. It's got a menthol scent going for it that makes your face cool while it hardens.

Citrus Facial Scrub: Ehhhhh, it was okay. It smells like pumpkin pie because it has cloves in it. I was expecting more citrus. There's better exfoliators out there.

Coconut Foot Cream: It's definitely coconutty. It's a little greasy, but it works. You must wear socks to bed if you put this stuff on, or else your sheets get ruined. (Unfortunately, I don't sleep well with socks on! )

Um. Yeah. Did I mention I like Burt's Bees stuff? I enjoy giving their sample/travel packs as gifts; I've even bought a kit, borke it open, and used it as stocking stuffers - I kept some of the stuff!

I also love the cuticle cream. It smells wonderful, absorbs well, and most important, does keep my cuticles nice and soft!

I liked the smell of the foot cream but like Mary Kate said, it is a bit greasy. I hate sleeping in socks, and so this product is not a repeater for me.

Another vote for the cuticle cream. I work in the yard a lot in the summer and if I don't use it my hands are a mess! It's great all year long.

Question: Is this mask the same as the GREEN GODDESS mask that Burt's Bees used to have? I haven't been able to find the GG Mask, but have seen the Pore Refining Mask everywhere of late...

    Loved that Green Goddess...

Also like the cuticle cream. It's sad to say, I neglect my nails. But when I remember to use it, it really does the job. Stinks like bug spray, though...

Lone dissenter on the cuticle cream. I thought it was too greasy, and I felt like I was rubbing Pledge into my cuticles. I do like their hand cream, though, and I think it does the job on keeping my cuticles soft and hangnails at bay.

    LOVE the lip balm!

I also love the smell of their baby products. I keep meaning to get some of the dusting powder for me, since I love to use powder after I moisturize to seal it in.

Ok, I'll fess up. I use the deodorant.

I'm pretty worried about the links of antiperspirant to cancer etc and I don't like the smell of other deodorant products I've seen. I think it works really well for regular activity, but don't come near me after I've been to the gym.

As for cuticle cream, Sally Hanson makes an apricot one that you can get at Walgreen's. I think its great.

    I LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVV their eye-cream!!!
    Also the cuticle cream.
I don't mind sleeping with socks on and I LOVE the smell of the foot-cream.
I like the smell of their baby care line too.
I love their flavored lip glosses/balms too.

I love the lip balm. The baby care line is great, too. I have to use the baby bee buttermilk lotion because the "adult" stuff gives me a rash.

    I ordered:

    Lemon Butter Cuticle Crème
    Coconut Foot Crème
    Baby Bee Getting Started Kit
    Head to Toe Starter Kit

The Head to Toe Starter Kit probably would have done the trick, but everyone raved about the cuticle cream and foot cream, I just figured to go all out. And I love the smell of clean babies, so that explains the Baby Bee Getting Started Kit.........well, maybe not.......

Deoderant -- chemical deoderants do some strange things to my underarms

    Hand Salve

Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar (even DH uses this one)

I love the Coconut Foot Lotion and the Avocado Hair Treatment but it makes my hair too soft. The shampoo bar doesn't dry out my hair and my hair doesn't get dry enough to use any conditioner.

    Lavdender Mint Toothpaste

    Thumbs up

Love, love, love the Beeswax Lip Balm!!!!

The baby stuff is great too! Thanks for the reminder about it because I'm going to a baby shower next week and this would be a great addition to my basket of goodies for the mommy-to-be!

Hey, for you Burt's Bees lovers...last week I was doing some shopping on-line and drugstore.com was offering some free Burt's Bees products (I think a starter kit) for making a purchase. Don't know if they are still offering that, but you may want to check it out. It also seemed that they were offering a LOT of Burt's Bees products. If you spend up to $75, shipping is free.

I totally missed this question the first time around - sorry! And I think you've caught my error: I was thinking of the Green Goddess mask, and I've just run out of my last batch so I hadn't been looking for the GG. Is it gone for good?

    Thumbs up Burt's Bees evangelist

I was excited to see your question (although sorry I didn't get my two cents in before your order) because I have converted many folks to Burt's!! (BTW, my eyes lit up when I saw your Central Market reference...I am SO jealous and hope they francise soon to land-locked Lexington so I can get Out of a Flower ice cream!)

Anyway, everyone I've given or recommended BB lip balm to loves it, swears by it, and won't buy another brand.

I use the Baby Bee dusting powder--talc-free and nice, soft scent.

I love, love, love the hand salve, and have shared it with my fiancee. The almond milk stuff is nice too, but thicker and not as subtly scented.

The bay rum aftershave is yummy on boys too! (I can't convince my fiancee to love it as much as I do).

The Baby Bee Apricot oil is FABULOUS after you shave your legs. It soaks in and isn't super-oily like baby oil. Sorry I can't give any input on how the Baby Bee stuff is on real babies, but a new mother I gave a kit too was pleased!

They also give lots of $$ to land conservation, if you're into buying earth-friendly products.

I will give a thumbs down to the lipstick line--funky colors that don't relate to my skin tones at all, although they make my lips feel good (as long as I'm not near a mirror!)

I just got another starter kit for my b-day with some products I haven't tried...I could go on and on...

    Another LIP BALM lover here

  21. #21
This thread is fabulous. I have a huge Burt's Bees shop within another shop very nearby, but never really looked through it that closely. But, after reading all these wonderful reviews, lip balm, here I come! I use BeachBum's favorite cuticle cream, Sally Hanson's Apricot Creme, and think it's great.

What great timing! We're traveling this week, and I ran into a Burt's Bees display in a gift shop. I tried the cuticle cream and loved it but didn't buy it. After reading all of your great recommendations, I think I'll buy some on the way home . . . along with another sample or two. Thanks!

Thanks, everyone! It sounds like all their products are winners with someone. I bought the almond milk hand cream and the head to toe starter kit. I love the hand cream, although it's a little too thick and I end up using more than I probably need to, in order to spread it. I really loved the coconut foot cream, and will probably go back and buy a big tube of it. It's a little greasy, but I love the way it smells and after two nights in a row of using it and sleeping in socks, my feet are soooo soft! I'm still undecided on the cuticle cream. I like the way it feels, but the smell is very Pledge-y. Oh, and DH grabbed the lip balm out of my starter kit, so I doubt I'll ever see that again.

    Mary Kate -
I don't know. I've been looking for it in retail stores around here and can't seem to find it. Let me know if you find out!!

The Green Goddess Mask is not listed on the website www.burtsbees.com - only the Pore Refining Mask is there. It must be discontinued.

I noticed that the Green Goddess Mask isn't on the website either, but it did come in my starter kit. It might be worth a phone call to the company to find out if they're still making/selling it.

Okay. I called them. Green Goddess is now packaged differently - it's the Pore Refining Mask! YAY! They're the same thing.
