Hey Nefertete! Welcome. Is there anything significant about the Egyptian Queen and the desert references?

Wow! WOW! WOW!
What a surprise - so many responses!
Thanks for the nice welcomes, folks.
I wasn't sure if this would be the right forum to post this message - I kinda figured it might be more appropriate to be in the 'other topics' forum, but I'm so thrilled with this board that I wanted you all to know how I feel.
There are probably many nice websites around, but I've seen so many other than nice ones that I'm chicken to risk. I subscribe to some really nice ones, and this board is one of the best.
Hey valchemist,
Regarding the name Nefertete and the term desert, I have a special regard for Pharaoh Nefertete. I've found out that she was actually Pharaoh - the daughter of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, unlike what some researchers believe. The title 'queen' was slapped on her because she was female. Her spouse, Ikhnaton, was from a country foreign to Egypt. Take a look at some pictures of the two of them and you'll get an idea of what I'm saying. You'll also see that she more resembles Amenhotep III than does Ikhnaton.
I am a desert dweller - I live in Southern California. There's no connection between my interest in Pharaoh Nefertete and my place of residence. Lala.
And, Gertdog,
I'm doing some research on it right now - checking out the recipes folks have posted on the thread I started, as well, I'm considering using a lemon bar recipe combined with Brownies Cockaigne from the Joy of Cooking. I might make them separately today, then combine them if it works out well enough. I'll keep you posted.

That's true - everyone sure seems to be willing to lend a helping hand to one another here. And, the wonderful thing is - there's nobody giving anybody else a hard time about anything. What a breath of fresh air!
And, it sure is a nice place to find 'by accident'. That's how I found it, too.
Thanks for the welcome!

You should have been around here about a month or so ago. We wound up collecting money for a helpless dog named Alamo, who needed surgery and a new home.
Not only did he find a new home, we raised several hundred $$ for the surgery, that wound up being used by the vets to help other animals because the new owners paid for the surgery.![]()

Welcome - warning, this place is extremely addicting!!!
Where in SoCal do you live?
Welcome!! Which desert do you live in?
Life is all about a$$; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, behaving like one, or you live with one.
