    A Beautiful Christmas Gift...

My grandfather died yesterday morning at his home after a battle with lung cancer. He had been in a great deal of pain and it's a blessing to see him relieved of it. If you guys could just say a prayer for my family, espeically for my grandmother, I would really appreciate it.

Jen, I'm sorry to hear that, but at least he's out of pain now. Good thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Your family is certainly in my thoughts and prayers, Jen. I remember well the mixture of grief and relief we felt when we lost my father to lung cancer -- they're both in a much better place. :hugs:

    Jen,
My prayers are with you and your family. My mom passed with lung cancer and it is a relief. I do believe they are in a better place. It is very hard for the people who are left here...being out of the pain is a gift for all!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has offered condolences and prayers so far...we're getting ready to go to the funeral so I won't be around for a couple of days and I wanted to go ahead and thank everyone for their kind words.

    Jen,

Yes, it is a beautiful gift! My grandfather passed away this summer after being ill for several years so I understand the mixed blessing.

Love to you and your family,

    Jen,
so sorry for you and your family .
I will be praying for you and especially your grandma. My mom's mom died a few years ago and then grandpa (her husband) died 10 days later . It was so hard for all of us, but especially the spouse, obviously.

We'll all be thinking of you Jen

    Jen,

For sure. You got it - prayers and condolences galore for your family, and especially for your grandmother, though as you say it is a mixed blessing.

I hope the funeral went okay. See you here soon.

Jen, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know how difficult it is to watch a loved one suffer through cancer. Knowing that your Grandfather is no longer in pain is a blessing, but I know that losing him, especially at this time of the year, is very, very painful. Words are never enough at a time like this, but please know that I am sending you a long distance hug and lots and lots of prayers.

Jen, my thoughts and prayers go with you, your family, and especially your grandmother. DH lost his first FIL to lung cancer and said it was the worst thing to witness. I lost my grandmother to brain cancer on a Sunday morning as I heard church bells ringing. I totally understand the gratefulness for their peace as well as the sadness for their loss. Hugs to you, your parents and grandmother. (((( ))))

Life is all about a$$; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, behaving like one, or you live with one.

Oh Jen, I am so sorry to hear your news. 15 years ago I lost my Mom at Christmas time so I can imagine how difficult this is for your family. I will certainly remember your grandmother and grandfather in my prayers. Take care.
