    Yellow vs. Green Split Peas

    Hi.

    I am planning to make a recipe for dal that calls for yellow split peas. Can I use my green instead or do they taste really different?

    I am not positive, but the yellow and green split peas that we use are NOT the same "yellow dahl" that Indian cuisine uses.
    I have bought some at the Indian grocer and it doesn't look anything like what i had at home.

    I don't know the answer, but you might want to try posting this question over on the Great Food board. This board gets less traffic, and I'm pretty sure someone over there would be able to help you!
