Question Poll: Easter bunny- ears first??

OK, Kayla, you asked the question on Mamasue's "Easter Funny" thread (innocently, I'm sure ) and now I'm making it official:

When eating a chocolate Easter bunny, what do you attack first?

I take after my mom- EARS! We literally had to eat them first or she would beat us to it!

**Editing to ask- anyone ever see the bunnies that are like 2 inches of body and about 6 inches of ears?? They're awesome! My dream come true!**

Here's the original thread if you didn't catch it: http://community.cookinglight.com/sh...threadid=39571

I voted "other" only because I eat the "eyes" first, if it's the kind that comes with the candy eyes.

Only one way to eat the bunny - ears first. That reminds me, I have got to go out and get myself a bunny really soon!

I haven't eaten or bought one in years since the boys are now grown and I have no excuse but I taught them "eyes first"!

I voted ears. My Mom always sends DH and me a solid chocolate bunny from her favorite little candy store. I have to admit once (I was probably about 11 or 12) I ate the whole thing in one sitting!

Now, it may take weeks for us to finish one off. In fact, I think I may have recently found one from last year in the cupboard.

Definately the entire head! Same with gummy bears and any candy-type animal. I always told my DD when she was growing up that you must always eat the head first so the poor thing dies instantly and doesn't suffer. My logic made a big impression on her, because to this day she still does i like me!

You're too cute! I was just going to start this thread tonight when you beat me to it!!

For me... I have to say that I break into the butt first

The thing was, when I was younger and would actually have them, I felt SO guilty biting their little heads off, that I thought a milder and more humane approach would be to bite it in the ... well, butt.

Now that I've grown, I think I understand a bit more that chocolate easter bunnies don't have feelings ... but I think it will always remain tail first, then head, then body

    Thanks for starting this!

    Kayla

I just edited to add that I LOVE your choices... my favorite? Where you say Whatever is closest to my mouth... too funny!

Well, now, this makes sense, since then it can't see what you're about to do to it!!!

As for me, I don't reall like chocolate bunnies. I always ended up with "yucky" chocolate...

I don't really eat Easter bunnies. I feel too mean! I know, I know...I'm weird! I go for the eggs instead.

    Fun question, though!

This is what I do too. I'm afraid it might suffer if it's slowly nibbled away, bit by bit, so I put it out of its misery by biting its head off. I think in my youth I read too many children's books in which the characters were animals.

    Cannibals!!

Yesterday when the Baghdadians were tearing down the statue of Saddam and they ripped a hole in the head all I could think of was a chocolate Easter bunny. What a cheap statue - a hollow Saddam not a solid one.

I voted other. I haven't had a chocolate bunny for years. I can still remember when I was a kid my mother would buy the cheapest chocolate bunnies and I would press the middle (stomach) to see if hollow or solid and then eat those pieces. So I guess I would have to say I went for the stomach!

Nowadays any bunnies that I eat are Peeps....they have to be hard and the ears are the first to go.

I voted whatever is closest to my mouth, because whatever way its facing when I take it out of the package I take a bite-I have always been that way. I am the youngest of 3 and if I had any leftovers my brother and sister would steal it from me, so I had to be quick, lol.
My Mom bought the smaller ones with hollow ears because she didn't want us having too much and we had so much other candy too. My first chance I bought a 12" SOLID bunny and it lasted quite awhile.

Sometimes when we were little our bunnies in our baskets would come ear free, my mom apparently couldn't help herself when she filled them! So, now I eat all ears first just so she couldn't get at them!

I go for the ears too.

When DD was very small, we gave her a chocolate bunny. She was just looking at it, so DH thought he'd help her along and broke off the ears for her. She started crying!!

And Mamasue! So for all practical puposes you'd disembowel the bunny? That ain't right!

...oh I guess I should answer! Ears first!

I don't eat Easter bunnies (or any chocolate for that matter) ... but when I was a kid, it was always the ears first - and I always tried to save my candy (usually I'd still have some by the time Halloween rolled around ), so I would start with the ears and then slowly break pieces off until I was the last one to finish my bunny.

Yeh, Clover!!! Another person that thinks just like me. I am famous for giving objects and animals real life personalities!! Glad to see I'm not alone in my madness.

Peggy C. - I've probably ruined her for life, huh?! She says that someday she is goign to write a book about all my weird notions and experiences! Hopefully she won't end up on the therapist's couch, but you never know...

Actually I'm sure she's fine and probably has a pretty good sense of humor to boot!

Now what would that psychologist say if I changed my answer to "other" and I actually eat their feet first so they can't hop away? Muah ha ha ha
