How much uncooked rice makes 3 cups of cooked?

I'm wanting to make CL's Cheesy Beef and Rice Casserole later this week, but I've no idea how much uncooked rice I need to make up the 3 cups of cooked required in the recipe.

I know one of you clever souls will be able to tell me!

1 cup of uncooked rice to 2 cups water makes 3 cups cooked rice.

Um, wouldn't that depend upon the variety of rice you're using..?

Thanks for the help guys - 1 cup uncooked successfully turned into 3 cups cooked. Don't know why I didn't think to look up Cook's Thesaurus in the first place!
