    Lazy Question

OK, I admit. I am lazy.

I love having the Cooking Light recipes in MC because it makes it so easy for me to search by title or ingredient or whatever. It is such a pain to go through each individual magazine or annual when I want to find a recipe for say edamame.

    My question is:
Is there an easier way to get all the recipes input into MC than individually typing each one in. I know that sounds like a silly question because how else are you going to get them in. But, I'm just wondering how you all deal with this or is this only something that is driving me crazy.

I do love the magazines so I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining. I'm just trying to find a way to save some time when searching for just the right recipe. And, that for me is having the recipes in MC.

    I wish there was too.

I feel silly admitting it, but it took me a long time to figure out how to use the import assistant. I would cut and paste a recipe from the board and then have to import the recipe a line at a time. Ugh! The problem was that I wasn't highlighting the whole block of text, so I couldn't use the auto-fill feature.

I'm finally seeing how MC can make my menu planning easier too. Yay.

Although I do wish I could get the menus to print out the way I like them. I even asked for help on the MC webpage, but their advice didn't help. (I don't want nutritional values to print out, especially when they're blank.)

You may not think this is really an "answer" but it is.

I belong to the yahoo group CookingLight-MC. We format every month's recipes into MC, and there are enough of us (about 25) so that each person only types 4-5 recipes a month. The moderator assigns and proofreads. Also, the last couple of years of CL are in our archives and available to members.

I find this a wonderful way to get all recipes, neat and consistent. It takes me very little time and I feel it's well worth it. You do need to have either MC 5 or 6 to participate. The website is:

Laura, this is the perfect solution!!
Last night I even started thinking about the possibility of a yahoogroup like this. I'm so glad to know that there is already one organized!! I'm joining! Thanks, Laura!!
