Did you save after you were done?
You can ask the software to prompt you, otherwise it assumes you know to do it.
Try again and see if saving it and then saying "done" works....
Thoreau said, 'A man is rich in proportion to the things he can leave alone.'
Yes, Wallycat...after I import it I save it and click done. My Cookbook is open, but it doesn't go there.
If I type a recipe in, I can put it in a cookbook.
Is there a way to import without using the import assistant? I see that there are all sort of extensions but not the .mx2

Sami,
Perhaps this web page about using the Import Assistant will help you: http://mc6help.tripod.com/UsingIA.htm
This web page explains importing: http://mc6help.tripod.com/ImportingRecipes.htm
Pam's MasterCook 5+ Help Site (download a MasterCook tips "cookbook" -- UPDATED 04/19/04): http://mc6help.tripod.com/
Check out the MasterCook Cupboard (info for all versions of MC): http://mastercook_cupboard.tripod.com/
Are you highlighting the whole recipe before you hit Import; that was what tripped me up.
Laura
Thanks all for your suggestions. I think I might have figured it out. It is a cumbersome way but if I cut and paste the recipe and send to my email, I can save it as a text file and then in MC, instead of using the icons (which i had been doing,) fo to file and import and it comes in beautifully. I am such a happy camper.
