CL cover photo: Grilled chicken with "Veg-All"

Hope Jennifer won't boot me off the boards for this posting, but anyone remember the thread about the CL cover photo with a semi-anemic looking piece of chicken and a pile of what someone described as looking like "Veg-All"? Yea, that one.
I came across it last night, and felt compelled to point out to you all that that was ONE YEAR AGO!
Can't believe how quickly time flies!!!

Yeah, and as I remember I was frustrated because the CHICKEN looked good, but when you looked at the recipe it was just "dredge in a half dozen or so spices and cook".

Funny how some threads stick in the minds of some people. I don't even remember the discussion.

The deepest girdling does not deaden it, and even after it is cut down and worked up into the side of a cabin it will send out young branches, denoting to all the world that Buckeyes are not easily conquered, and could with difficulty be destroyed." - Daniel Drake, 1833

So I guess I'm not the only one who measures the passing of time through CL covers. There's a big stack of magazines in my study. Occassionally, I'll pick an issue, gaze at it and think it seemed like just yesterday we were all discussing it.

And yes, I do remember the anemic chicken. Every time I see that cover I think "Gee, I don't think it's bad." There've been better covers, but that one strikes me not so much as ugly but as funny because people had a strong reaction.

My favorite issue is the one with the mini pecan pies on it.

I don't either. But...our Canice being in true form brought this subject up on Sunday night. Maybe its the soup.

    I remember that thread, too!

And I think that's when I first really started surfing threads around here. I can't believe I've been around here reading that long. It doesn't seem like it.

Apparently I don't have all that much to say though, since I'm at about 250 posts. And probably most of those are in the running buddy threads!

I guess they're right - time flies when you're having fun. And heaven knows I love reading stuff around here. You guys are fun.

Actually, I worded my post wrong: What I was surprised at was coming across the magazine itself and noticing that it was August 2002. Not so much that the thread was remarkable, but just, wow, a whole year gone by like <snap>!
