    Pregnancy tests

I've been reading these boards for a while and thought you all seems so informative and friendly. I have two more days before I'm late, but I took a pregnancy test last night and there was a faint line. Do you think that I can take this that I am pregnant?

Yep, a line is a line. Sounds like congratulations are in order!

I got a faint line too the first test I took. If it will make you feel better, wait a few days and test again. But I would agree with Susan that a line is a line.

    Congratulations!

    Zelly,

Welcome to the boards, and congrats on being pregnant.

Yes, that's a positive test. Any line, no matter how faint is a positive result.

Congrats if being pregnant is right for you! (If I got pregnant now and someone told me congrats, I'd probably deck them. )

But, we need to put all this together while moving at high speeds on a cold and slippery surface while 5 other guys use clubs to try and kill us. Oh, yeah, did I mention that this whole time we're standing on blades 1/8 of an inch thick. Is ice hockey hard? I don't know, you tell me. Next question."

As others have said - a line is a line. I did test again a couple of days later simply because we'd picked up the more economical two-pack

The second time I got a faint line. DH said "but the colors of the two lines don't match!" (we weren't quite ready to be pregnant at that time) But yes, it is a line. You won't get a false positive. And take another test if you'd like. I think I took about four before I actually believed it. And each baby is a miracle so I will definitely say congratulations to you!! !!
Wouldn't you like to be a Susan, too?

Thanks everyone. I'm going to take another test over the weekend just to make sure. I'm still a little shocked over this because my DH and I just decided about a month ago to start trying. I figured it would take a few months, but I happy either way!

    Congratulations!

You give me hope -- we're about to start trying and I'm afraid it will take FOREVER! (I'm an impatient person by nature.)

    Yay Zelly and DH!!

    Here's my take:

I just went thru IVF and learned that a line for preg pretty much means that it is a positive unless you are taking fertility drugs. I believe that if it were neg. it would not always mean that you were not preg. So, that being said.............congrats! Use your first a.m. urine because it is the strongest. Best wishes

Zelly -- that's pretty much exactly what happened to us. I'd just gone off the pill and figured there was no way we'd be lucky enough to get pg right away. I was having symptoms but thought they were just "non-pill" pms symptoms and took the test just so I'd stop wondering. DH didn't know how the test worked and said we needed to wait the full amount of time to make sure the line didn't go away - he didn't want to get his hopes up.

    Congratulations!!
