    Talking Happy Thread/Dixie Update

    Hello Everybody and HAPPY FRIDAY!

I just though that it was time for another Happy Thread (you can't have too many of those) and to update all of you on our dog Dixie.

Dixie went in to get her sutures removed today and I spoke with Dr. Johns about the pathology report. The uterine/ovary mass is benign (YAY!), two of her four mammary tumors that were removed are also benign, however, the other two are not. Dr. Johns feels that they’ve removed all the tissue from those mammary glands, so there shouldn’t be a problem with recurrence (fingers crossed). Dixie has two other mammary glands with tumors (not removed) in them that are very small; Dr. Johns did not want to remove them at the time of the original surgery because of the swollen glands (Dixie has serious mastitis with a lot of swelling, possibly resulting from the false pregnancy she experienced). Dr. Johns felt that because of the swelling and the size of the tumors, she would not be able to get them cleanly. Dixie is currently on antibiotics to reduce swelling and irritation from the mastitis, and when that is resolved (3 weeks or so), we’ll move forward with the removal of the other two mammary tumors. Dixie is doing very well otherwise. On Monday, she started having a severe bout of GI distress, replete with messes in the house and sore bottoms. Poor Girl! She is doing much better now, having been on a bland diet. Despite the upset stomach, she is rarin’ to go the minute she gets outside, and has been fighting the leash to be able to run around. Her lil’ brother Dewey is happy as a clam that she’s back to ‘normal’ and is wanting to go out into the fields for a good, long romp together. Methinks that this upcoming weekend is the perfect time.

So not 100% the best news, but good enough for now. Dixie is soooo happy to be home and we're so happy to have her here. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers for our Dixie. There are still a few bumps in the road ahead, but I feel that we will all handle them together.

These past few weeks have been crappy--I got rear-ended which put the truck in the shop, gave me the willies for a week, and DH a horrid rental to drive (don't EVER buy a Ford Focus--lemons, I tell ya' ) Dixie got sick, and all this mess tied up any spare $$ we had saved to do some much needed repairs. <sigh> I think that it was that crazy full moon on the 13th.

But, NO MORE! The sun is out, its a BEAUTIFUL Friday, and things are looking up! I have a million little things to celebrate and be thankful for...How 'bout you?

**First, and formost: DH, Dixie, Dewey, Dave and Danka, My wonderful Husband and our Beautiful babies.

**DH had a great interview with the State of MI (where he's temping now) and hopefully will lead to a permanent position with BEFEFITS.

**DH has an another interview on Monday with a company that sought him out, so that looks promising, too.

**Its sunny and NOT 900* with 900% humidity!

**The truck is fixed and cleaner than its been in months!

**Our kookoo neighbors eyesore house that burned down a few weeks ago is FINALLY being torn down! We're convinced he set it himself for the insurance money, cuz his meth-lab business wasn't working out.

**It's the WEEKEND! Last week was my family reunion--wonderful, but exhausting; next weekend is the AuSauble canoe race--a blast, but exhausting , this weekend we'll have a much needed rest and relax.

    Everybody and a wonderful weekend!

    Kyle

Great news about Dixie! I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything continues to go well with her.

    Happy things:

It's sunny and gorgeous today, albeit a tad hot.

I had a wonderful healthy filling (and cheap!) lunch at this new-to-me Japanese fast food restaurant with my sweet DH today.

    It's FRIDAY!

I leave for vacation for ten days in 9 days!!
