Man, what ever happened to the lazy, hazy days of summer?
Vanished with technology, I guess. (Which was supposed to make our lives easier -- I'll spare you my horror stories about moving -- it was 10 years ago that I made my last move and I can't believe how much more complicated it is these days...)
I have no HL/WS updates today since I took the day off and had my hair done, had lunch with girlfriends and saw the eye doc. The best news I had all day is that Penzey's Spices has opened a new store in Appleton, WI, which is only about 30 miles from my new home! So I won't have to do mail order in my new location! I showed off my built-in spice cabinet to a friend today and explained I have a small investment in Penzeys and was truly happy to find out that I won't have to drive two hours to the Brookfield HQ to stock up!!!
Les I am sure that DS has chosen to take French over Spanish since when he opted for German over Spanish in middle school two years ago, it was a defiant move. I said Spanish would be infinitely more practical and so he did the total opposite of what I suggested. His choices in the new HS are French or Spanish, and I again mildly suggested Spanish would be the wise choice, so he opted for French. Whatever. It's not like he's going to try to get into Harvard, and having a smattering of two European languages may ultimately be helpful. Besides, I bet there are a lot of GIRLS taking French and he thinks he may score in that area....
I hate to tell you, but I'm back to the basement. DH and I vowed today that we will NOT let the basement in our new home turn into the cave that is the basement in the home we live in today....
