    NOVA/DC Young Professionals Supper Club?

    Hi, All,

Unfortunately, my "other half" is not in the area, so I can't participate in the couples NOVA group. So, anyone up for starting a NOVA/DC Young Professionals Supper Club? Doesn't matter to me if you're single or not, just that you are willing to try new things and have a sense of humor if they don't quite come out the way you expected... I'm in Alexandria, but have a car, so I can get anywhere and am willing to give others a ride...

Let me know if you're interested!

    Regards,
    Gwen

I love to cook, too and would like to start or join a supper club. Perhaps 6-8 people is about the right number. Probably should keep it to NOVA/DC for convenience.

    NOVA/DC Supper Club

    Hi,

I have just moved to Alexandria with my husband. I would love to join a supper club in the area. I was a member of a supper club before we moved and miss it terribly! I am excited to start something new.

    NOVA/DC Supper Club

A NOVA/DC Supper Club sounds like a fantastic idea. I live in Alexandria - Kingstowne area. I'd love to participate and look forward to meeting you!

    1) when is good day to have the supper club? Saturday or Sunday? Weekends are best for me since I'm never sure when fire drills popup at work

    2) when/where does everyone want to meet to get all the details ironed out?

    I'm interested!

I'm a 31-year-old professional single who recently relocated from Chicago to Arlington (Rosslyn area). Would love to be part of a NOVA club that gets going!

It seems that most of us live in Northern Virginia. Shall we meet at a restaurant in the Alexandria/Arlington area the first time to work out all of the details? I also would prefer a weekend meeting. What does everyone else prefer?

    When

How do Sundays work for people? Could do every third or fourth or the first one in each month. Will be easy to remember that way.

I'm not sure if the group is already formed, but I would definitely be interested in participating in a supper club anywhere in the DC metro area. I live in Alexandria but would be willing to drive. Please let me know. Thanks, Jenny

The more, the merrier. From my past experience with supper clubs, not everyone one will make it to the same event.

2nd or 3rd Saturdays/Sundays are good for me.

If interested, please send your name/e-mail address to kspvk_food@yahoo.com. This way, we can start collecting names and communicating where we should have our first pre-supper club meeting to get the details ironed out.

How about meeting at a resturant in Arlington. Since its off of 395 and 66, it is easy for everyone. Any suggestions?

A few restaurant ideas in Arlington:

Flat Top Grille on N. Fairfax
Village Bistro on Wilson (between Courthouse and Rosslyn)
Rays the Steaks on Wilson (between Courthouse and Rosslyn)

Labor Day weekend is probably bad for most of us, how about the Sunday after?

    Thanks, Kim!

    Hi Again,

Thanks for taking up the reins, Kim. Looks like we have a pretty good group going. Sunday is good for me, as well. Since our first meetings will probably be October/November/December, it might be easier to avoid holidays if we did the first or second weekend of the month.

Does anyone have suggestions for a place to meet up? Does everyone have a car, or do we need to meet near a Metro stop? I'm new to the area, so I don't have much in the way of ideas.

I'll respond on your e-mail address as well.

    See you all soon!

    Regards,
    Gwen

    NOVA Cooking Club

Hello! Is there room for one more in this club in the making? I read the article in cooking light last night - sounds like fun!

Don't think I'll be able to make the first meeting next Sunday, but I'd still love to be part of the group. Keep me updated on when you might meet again. Jenny
