help! i used too much pomade!

I've done that before, but my only fix was to wash it. Sorry.

Maybe try brushing it a lot, to spread the pomade out through your hair? That might distribute it enough that it won't look as greasy?

help! i used too much pomade!

i am here at work, and my hair looked a little dry & frizzy. i remembered that i had some molding creme (basically pomade) in my bag, so i dove in, wasnt thinking and put way too much in. i usually only use a small bit rubbed in my hands then smoothed on the ends. but for some reason (i am very sleepy today), i smeared it on like hair gel! even on the top of my head! my hair is pretty greasy & heavy now and i cant stand it.

going out after work, so i dont have time to go home and wash it. what can i do to fix it so my hair doesnt look greasy & dirty? is there anything i can do here at work or that a quick trip to walgreens could fix?

I know that baby powder brushed through your hair will absorb dirt. I also read somewhere to try a salt rub. The only commercial product I knew about was PSSSST! dry shampoo from the 70s. (but truthfully baby powder works just the same).

Try googling dry shampoo for hair. There are some recipes there as well (and maybe a commercial product).

okay, i have been brushing my hair non-stop for about 15 minutes with one hand, while i type with the other.

it HAS distributed the pomade some. all of my hair is pretty shiney now. but the roots are still greasy & it is making my roots look super dark. maybe i will dump some baby powder on my head and go for the bleach blond look? what do you think? cant hurt. my hair will smell like a baby's butt- minus the stinky diaper.

    Beth,

I suggest trying the baby powder. If you sprinkle it on and brush it through it shouldn't be that noticable...if I remember correctly you have blonde hair.

I once had a similar incident with styling cream...not fun. I hope your hair is okay!

Had you had dark hair, you would have looked like George Washington

Darn -- guess us brunettes just have to deal with greasy hair, huh?

No, I'm a brunette (fairly dark brown too) and it brushes out. Not something I'd recommend on a daily basis, but in a pinch...it works. Haven't done it in years though
