Talking Bought a Kitchen Aid on Ebay!

So, on the spur of the moment, I just bought the KitchenAid I have been salivating over for the last year! The 5 Qt Artisan in Empire Red! We are doing another round of ebay sales, and so I bought this with our proceeds. I did Buy it Now for $189. I think that is a good price considering amazon sells it for $249. And it is brand new in the box!

The potential good news for my BB friends is that my trusty old 4 1/2 QT white model will be on the auction block at ebay as soon as I get my new one and make sure it works!! Anyway, I'll let y'all know when it is on ebay in case anyone out there wants a KitchenAid. Mine is a great starter model. I was just ready for an upgrade.

Mamasue, Mom's cookies are actually what convinced DH that a bigger mixer was justified. Just doing a regular batch (which is quite a large batch) in my 4 1/2 Qt, I would have to hold my arms around the bowl to stop the batter from flying out! I'm not sure if an extra 1/2 Qt is going to seem a lot bigger or not. I just really like the tilt head, and non of the 6Qt models are tilt head. I'm sure I will love it!

My Kitchen Aid came yesterday, and she is beautiful! I am going to break it in by making Bon Appetit's Double Chocolate Cheesecake tomorrow.

And, just in case anyone out there is interested, my old mixer is now on ebay. My user name is laurahboyd. It would be great to know it was going to a good BB home.

Good move, and congrats! We bought ours (creamy yellow) on e-bay two years ago, and tonight it whipped through oatmeal cookie dough like nobody's business.

So - what are you lusting after now, kitchen-wise?

I actually find myself in a place where I'm not lusting after any kitchen stuff! There are things I would like if I had more space, like a waffle maker or a food saver, but I actually have everything I really want.
