I was hoping someone knows a little about pellet stove inserts. DH= is hot to buy one. We looked at two, one by Breckwell and one by Whitfield. The Breckwell is $1000.00 more. The Whitfield is made by Lennox, a name I'm familiar with and also will look better in our home. The Breckwell looks too contemporary to us.
Anyone have any experience with pellet stove inserts? I get how they work but would the Breckwell be a better product to invest in? We've talked to the sales persons but they are hawkin' their own product and sometimes you get what you pay for.
Well, I didn't post before because I don't have an insert... we do have a Whitfield freestanding pellet stove though. It was in the house when we bought it, so I'm not sure how old it is, but we've been here for almost 6 years and haven't had any problems with it. The company that services it for us said that it's a pretty low-end model, but it works for us. Puts out a good amount of heat, doesn't smoke, hasn't conked out.
Have you checked for reviews at www.epinions.com? Are the warranties comparable? I'm sure there are home improvement forums online that might be able to give you feedback on your specific situation... Good luck!
Thank you, Lisa.
I've done a little research but it's nice to get opinions from someone I "know". Will check out the warranties next.
